I We just got married in October. She's 53 and I'm 65. Dated exclusively for seven years. We're working on her visa now. I'm not worried about america changing her. Well stay here for around five years and sell the house which is already paid for and maybe get a small place somewhere in the US and go to the Philippines for half the year. Who knows. Probably just rent there and go to different places each time since neither of us has seen different places in the Philippines. We are both traditional in our lives. Neither of us like going out and crowds etc. I live in a rural area here and she has never driven and never will. She won't even get on a bicycle. We both love the simple life. It helps to really know the woman you marry and it's just as important that a Filipina know the man she marry's.

@@woodspirit98 I think the risks are lower the older the people are . I think once she is above 40 the risk goes down a lot . I was married to a Filipina American and engaged to another. Once they are second generation they become much more American even if raised by first generation. The younger the Filipina and the larger the age gap , the higher the risk , just my observation but haven’t done research on it . Some of the endearing qualities get lost by the second generation. Actually hearing that a lot of developing countries are becoming more American like , where the young women no longer know how to cook. No big deal but simply an observation. Times are a changing .

Your friend is spot on. I brought my wife to the States and she loved every minute of it. Yes, she became Americanized, but she kept her core values. I watched her grow into her new life. Yes I HAVE seen an American woman tear up over how foreign woman rip off American men! I'm an American woman and one of my close male friends got stomped on by a Japanese woman who used him for a visa. When he recovered from that despicable woman he gave his heart to a Filipina who did the same trick. I think there are nice foreign and American ladies but he didn't find one. 😭

She is spot on Paul. My Filipina wife spent over 11 years in the USA with me(K1) and we have been married for 14 years and now retired in the Philippines. Over half of the filipino community that we hung out with 50% of the young filipinas LEFT their older husbands to find new younger American men. During our time in America, the Filipino community is not perfect by any means. The experience that I had with over 12 filipino/American couples that we met, seemed that the older the Filipina, the more she stayed with her American husband. Each Filipina is Different with an agenda, motives, and goals. Their main purpose is to WORK to send money back to the Philippines for their family-------bbbbbbbut there are other reasons. I seen some horror stories that I could share, but it would be a BOOK. If I could do it all over again-------------in my experience----------I wished I would have never brought my Filipina to America but that is MY opinion of my situation.

Loved the comment and agree with the statement expressed. The only difference is I haven't found the same percentage in the filipina group my wife hangs with. They all seem to care about who they married. Some of the ladies in my opinion stay out with their friends a bit later then I would like for my taste. Seems to me some of the husbands the ladies are married to here cause that late night mentality to happen by not treating their wifes as equals. IE the women have their money and the husbands have their own money.
@Mjolnher9
@Mjolnher9 Жыл бұрын
@@jon15711 i think it's too be expected everywhere. If a Filipina finds another younger guy her age especially if she makes decent money and he is good looking and also makes a decent living which many younger guys do now it seems logical she would much rather prefer the younger one.

The American mind says this happens because of money. What if it is more than that? Flip side. I take you to the mountains. Mga Bondo. You can take as much money as you want but you can never speak English again. You have money but you can only eat off the Land. Then you have to stay in a Bamboo bahay Kubo with 7 other people. And thé mountains are in Zambanga del Sur with the Abu Saya still running around. Money is a factor but it is not the only factor as is explained in thé vidéo.

@@iluvmoney6767 I agree with you on the younger ones (hate to generalize) usually marrying an older foreigner out of desperation or effort to just move up in life (as Paul and her discussed). Far as the "spoiled fruit" would depend on if it is love (real love) they would get married no matter what mom said or co-habitate and have another child (his one would presume) and then situation changes since mom now has a "real" apo.

Important topic to carefully consider. Since the 90s when I first brought my fiance to USA. I quickly learned about Filipina interaction, they love to hate each other and backbite. To a workplace with 10 or more Filipinos, all competing who got the new jewelry to got the new car. Major fights to-the-point the boss had to take one of their guns away. I don't really see the value in indoctrination of your Filipino to other Filipinos, I quickly viewed it as destructive and more drama than our marriage could handle. My wife being young and bossed around by a senior Filipina it was ridiculous. Very jealous small-minded and telling her to go home and change clothes because she was too sexy. I noticed the older Filipinos were much more loyal and would stay with their eighty-year-old husband. Well three out of three couples all of them dumped their original husband, replaced with younger more money and taller American man. Three out of three that I know and includes my own X. The bottom line is it really depends on your Filipina but after what I've seen I doubt if I would bring Filipina to USA🙏🙏

It's nice to hear a good stories of mixed race marriages like hers. Her story is good and sounds like she is successful with life being married to American . In reality, not all Filipina are looking for a foreign husband or Bf. I am born Filipina and married to an American, I've lived in America since in my teens, and yes I am very Americanized as you would say. But, my heart is still Filipino and respect the culture there, and I go back at least twice a year to be with my Filipino families and friends. Respect and learning the boundary works for any foreign marriages, it has nothing to do if you are Americanized or not. What makes it bad for Filipino are those foreigners who exploit them. Thanks for the video. Aloha from Hawaii

I commend you for acknowledging that problems in Fil-Am relationships can't always be blamed on the Filipina. There may be reasons behind the stereotypes, but the exceptions are numerous and we shouldn't be too hasty to generalize. My Filipina wife and I have been together for 44 years. She has only sparingly sent money back home since our marriage (much less than I would be willing to), and I have tried to "Filipinize" myself in language, culture, and food as much as she has Americanized. Cultural fusion is great when it's a mutually respectful effort.

She is such a sweetheart! I’m talking to two different younger Filipinas (26,31), I’m 71. Not sure if I’m young enough to go through the lengthy visa process, and still have time to get her to America and get her set up financially for the day that I’m gone.

I worked with a Filipina woman in the US a few years ago. Her husband was an elderly American probably in his late 70's and they had been married for around 15 years. She was in her late 30's very attractive. She was constantly screwing around with guys at work. She hit on me a few times but I turned her down since am married with kids. Not willing to lose my family for some easy casual sex. But plenty of guys married and single took the opportunity. No idea what their marriage was like, maybe it was an open relationship. Just sad thinking about that.

When I first went online to begin the search for my future mate I made it very clear I didn’t want to date anyone under the age of 30 and that my intention was to work a few more years here in the states, and then retire there. I didn’t want anybody having any undue expectations about coming to America and living a life of luxury because that was never going to be the case. I also stated I don’t mind if she had any children, especially if their father was not involved in their lives. I wanted to avoid that type of competition if I could. When I met my now wife, we chatted and video called for over a year before I was ever able to come to the Philippines due to Covid. During that time we really got to know each other pretty well, but obviously meeting in person can change that dynamic substantially. For us, the change was that our relationship Improved even more to the point where I married her four months after meeting her for the first time in person. I will never regret that day because she is the best woman I’ve ever had in my life and her 10-year-old daughter is the child I’ve always wanted in my life as well. She never knew her father but to her I am dad and it melts my heart every time she says it. Eventually, we’re going to settle in Dumaguete or Valencia and when we do it, I will look you up so we can have some lunch together!
