Sounds more like Elton John Edit: Well I'm sorry but how does this sound Beatlesque? - pretty cheesy melody ✓ - piano that just does chords on each beat, but does fills every measure, though the bass seems to be doing most of those here, so that sounds kind of like an in between between The Beatles and Elton ✓ - round sounding bass that sort of wiggles around in the background ✓ - chorus that goes high up for just the hook in a kind of minor sound even the verses sounded pretty major, even though they were kind of bittersweet and melancholic, but then chills back down and repeats the cycle ✓ - string orchestration that kicks in later, but doesn't really have its own melody and is pretty simple ✓ - straightforward drumming ✓ - also just uses pretty similar chords that Elton usually does. It sounds a lot like Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (mostly the chorus), Candle in the Wind (overall), or Rocketman (though just in the bass). That's definitely Elton. The Beatles tend to have more creative melodies, more creative drumming, more consistent but straightforward tone, less wiggly bass, and though they do have simple piano chords, they don't really do any of the fills Elton does. Finally, the string orchestration tends to have its own melodies and to highlight the rest of the music much more than it does in Elton's. Not very Beatles.

Someone's gone out fishing Someone's high and dry. Someone's on a mission to the lonely Lorelei. Some folk's got a vision of a castle in the sky And I'm left stranded, wondering why. You and me together Nothing feels so good Even if I get a medal from my local neighborhood I won't need a castle, they've got castles in Versailles And I'm still stranded, wondering why Make it a beautiful night for me It's a beautiful night for love A wonderful sight for lovers of love to behold Make it a beautiful night for me It's a beautiful night for love A wonderful sight for lovers of love to behold Some boat's on the ocean We're here in this room Seems to me the perfect way to spend an afternoon We can look for castles, pretty castles in the sky No more wondering, wondering why Things can go wrong, things can go right Things can go bump, in the dead of the night So let me be there, let me be there Let me be there with you in the dead of the night Make it a beautiful night for me It's a beautiful night for love A wonderful sight for lovers of love to behold Make it a beautiful night for me Such a beautiful night for love Such a wonderful sight for lovers of love to behold Yeah, it's a beautiful night Yeah, it's a beautiful night Yeah, beautiful night, beautiful night Yeah, it's such a beautiful night, beautiful, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night Beautiful night, beautiful night, beautiful night

I wish Paul would play some of his forgotten great songs live in his concerts. Would love to hear him play this song also My Brave Face, No More Lonely Nights, Hope Of Deliverance. Just so many to chose from.

Me too! He does that all to rarely. However, he did do "Flaming Pie" with his current touring band - so maybe he'll play other songs from that album, now that it's being reissued.

Add "Take It Away," an absolute banger of a song that I don't believe he's ever played live.

Yes, those are three of my favourite songs of his I wish he would do live. The first time I saw him live, he snuck in Temporary Secretary as one of the first songs and I about fainted with joy! He has so many great gems aside from just the hits.

Luis: I agree. Although, he already toured those albums when they came out, so he played more than half of the songs live 28-30 years ago. From "Flowers In The Dirt" he played 7 out of 13 songs. And OTG 8 of 12 - plus the single only song "Big Boys Bickering". His albums 1980-88 he never toured, so most of those songs were never played live. I would've loved to hear him play some songs from "Tug Of War" and "Pipes Of Peace".

If you guys make it to 7 yrs then you will stay together most likely. It took me 7 yrs to get rid of my X girlfriend because she stalked me and then told everyone I had become a gay boy. No offense to gays though its just everyone kept asking me if I was gay over and over. I should of sued her but I am not rich enough yet. Next time I only want an open relationship that goes slowly with no pressures but women want everything once they have claimed you especially your money...lol.

What an absolutely amazing song!!! The writing, the choir, Linda, Ringo, that gorgeous orchestration, and of course, Paul. This was the first tune my wife and I danced to in our wedding....and what a blast!! Everybody joining us at the end and just rocking out...Only Paul can write them like this. It's really something else when you think of what these 4 guys pulled off in only 7 years... this world will never catch lightning in a bottle like that again.

I can’t stop listening to this lately. When I’m not listening, I’m singing the chorus around my house. It’s surely got to be a visit from someone dearly departed. I say that because it came out of nowhere. ❤ it’s got to be my Mother. She loved Paul.

Was driving and this song by Paul came on. Immediately I knew it was a goodie when I heard the orchestration. Only been into the Beatles a couple of years and haven’t dove super far into the solo work. Proud to say my ears knew immediately that this had George Martin, about lost it when I heard Ringo’s voice lol. Can’t believe i’d never heard this song before but I’m absolutely convinced it could easily have been a Beatles chart topper, and one of those songs John would have absolutely adored along with Paul. Once a Beatle always a Beatle
