Of course, we had no parade last year. Like you, we use the horn a lot! We had three strings of battery powered lights. My wife and I really enjoyed it

Here's a tip for *after* the parade: check your point gap. For many folks, a parade may be the longest their Model A has run continuously in quite a while, and if you have a new-ish set of points (or if you didn't heed Paul's advice and lube the cam), the rubbing block may wear down noticeably during the event.

@@ModelA that tends to be the case. Anything made by the factories usually higher quality. But then again, the thing that I have is a reput original from what I understand. It's a Spartan horn. Another great video! Thanks! I did notice you are using "Peak" yellow long life OAT antifreeze. When I used that recently after a radiator change, it ate the innards out of my copper head gasket, resulting in gross leakage. I have since done much research on antifreeze and talked with the greybeards (what I gleaned was: anything "long life" = bad. Anything yellow, orange or blue = bad). I changed my head gasket and am now using green original IAT antifreeze. So far so good. Might be worth some research and a video! Having said all that, if yellow is working good for you, then go for it! Happy holidays to you and Model T!
@ModelA3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kevin! How weird. The yellow is the least reactive I have found. Been using it in Model A's forever. Not one problem except a few years ago when one of the silicone style head gaskets let go. But those all fail prematurely, so did not blame it on coolant.

I put my A in a parade of lights the 1st. It was a lot of work and alot of fun! I've got a question, any help would be appreciated. My car is running rich and nothing I've done has helped. I've set the float, cleaned it check the needle and adjustment screws nothing was off to me. The internal adjustment is screwed all the way in and still very rich. Any ideas? Thank you for your videos always a pleasure to watch!
@ModelA3 жыл бұрын
My guess- your jets are too big. Probably the crummy repro jets.
@Whitebuffalo443 жыл бұрын
@@ModelA Thank you for your time and reply! How would I tell if the jets are repo or original, what size should they be? The car was done in the late 70s and I know the history of owners which including myself there's been three since a complete restoration. I also have another carb and the jet numbers match on both. It is a zenith carb also.
