I was able to uograde my Stylo 1 to Marshmallow. What I took from this video is that basically they are virtually the same phones, not much difference. I might stay with the Stylo 1 just because of the NFC. That little feature makes my life easier when transferring pictures from my Canon camera to my phone.

I use NFC to transfer pictures from my digital camera to my phone. I have a Canon PowerShot camera with has the NFC feature and when I take pictures on the Canon camera, I can use NFC to wirelessly transfer the pictures from my camera to my phone, instead of having go thru the hassle pf removing memory sticks yada, yada, yada. Its a really neat feature and the fact that the Stylo 2 doesn't have it makes it seem like a downgrade.

+Kierra Kaat in my opinion I would go with the newer more future proof device it's similar specs on the Stylo 3 but should be more polished then the previous stylos. And a more fluid experience. I would recommend the Zmax Pro but that device has had some issues with consumers and it's hit or miss with it. You might get a good Zmax Pro or you might not. Just depends on the specific features your looking for that are most important to you. LG Aristo is solid performing device but it's missing some features that you might like there I no NFC No Notification light.

+Kierra Kaat That's a good question if the Zmax is future proof. Alot of us are waiting and hoping for the Android 7.0 Nougat Update if that arrives that will be great.As of now there is no official word if it will get the update we just have to wait. And software updates are usually 2 official updates then they stop providing them. Me personally I have no issues with my Zmax Pro it performs perfect. But like I said it's hit or miss with getting one with no issues. And of course im waiting to get my Stylo 3 to give a full review then I can provide more info about the device. But years ago I had a similar question like your self I asked MKBHD about the Galaxy S4 or S5 and he recommended I go for the newer device. So I usually provide the same answer I was given when asked.

this is for paul tech, I don't think is a good ideal to compare phones from diffrent provider's just cause the spec are beefed up for metro pcs, for instance the lg stylo for cricket wireless is 8gb rom while metro's is 16 gb. the stylo 2 on metro is called lg stylo plus with superior features like nfc which you mentioned in the video that is not on the stylo 2. and metro pcs version can up to 2 tb micro sd and has and octa-core processor not quad!

LG G2 SMOKES these phones performance wise...so if you can get one for the same price, you're better off.....Geekbench on LG G2 is 938 single core and 2741 multi-core....these phones are much lower (i know benchmarks aren't everything, but when the scores are that big of a difference, it is a good sign of performance difference)

Quick question for people who have gone from Stylo 1 to 2: At least on Boost, the Stylo 1 had many issues. Examples, Dropped calls, not getting notifications, Keyboard disappears, Crashes, etc, etc. Compared to the Stylo 1, is the Stylo 2 better performance wise? It certainly can't be worse.

More importantly I'd drop Boost altogether. No sense in upgrading if you're keeping Boost as your carrier. I had Metro PCS and switched to Boost to get the Stylo at a special price. It was so bad I switched back to Metro the following month. I think either phone...the 1 or the 2...is going to perform better on Metro PCS

both stylo 1 and 2 do not have expandable memory they are only designated memory for cam and file sharing. apps to sd not able to move and music on stylo 2 u have to move your self through file system is the only way I found so far. ps I had 5 stylo 1 and 1stylo 2 so far. you are going to root to work I think but I'm not that experienced. phone wise I pick stylo 2 but if I can I'm taking back and getting something other then lg.

the lg stylo does have expandable memory. I put a 128 gb sd card in my lg stylo and I saved all 600 songs on my sd card and I moved most of my apps also on my sd card so I don't know where you get your info from. and yes the lg stylo has marshmallow

Is it just my Lg G Stylo by Metro PCS or what? No one seems to be talking about how fucking terrible the video quality is on this thing. Everything is so overly sharpened. Like it legit draws silhouette lines around people and objects and makes them look WORSE. I tried everything to get the video quality to soften out but nothing. The picture quality is pretty good and you can zoom in so much in the picture when it's taken. And selfie quality is good too but videos on this thing are so damn terrible. I swear it pisses me off. Dont even get me started on snapchat back camera quality and the filters lag like a f*cking bitch. Just as terrible and even worse using snapchat because when the picture is taken it doesnt soften like it does when i take a picture with the phone's camera app. I dont even know if i'm making sense at this point. All in all i hate this phone's video camera quality. And it's such a high maintenance phone. If you don't know what youre doing to save space i promise you your phone will have little to no storage space by the time you hit around 6 months with this thing. F*ck this phone. *rant over*

+nhoj eojduc yes there is a difference between the two though because on the Stylo 2 when you hold down the home button it gives you Google Now on tap which gives you all these different cards while the originals LG Stylo doesn't give you those new features I should say it just takes you to the Google search but that's it
