The biggest difference between the two that I found is that you can't select which of multiple panels you want as your home screen. I have 5 screens and want it to land in the middle one (#3) when I press the home button. No problem on the G Stylo -- just pinch the screen and tap the house icon on the panel you want to set as your home screen panel. No such option on the Stylo 2. I spent an hour on the phone the MetroPCS tech support and they couldn't find a comparable feature. The other difficulty is in deleting apps. On the G Stylo, just hold the icon and drag it to the "Remove" trash can, or directly to the Uninstall button. With the Stylo 2 you have to go through several menu options to do the same things, very confusing. I sent the phone right back and kept using my G Stylo. The other improvements are just not worth these big omissions in basic functionality.

Both are great.. Both of mine are rooted and running smoothly.. The OG stylo has 5.1.1 so the app to SD is there.. The 2 plus has Nougat

Hey Paul, Did have the original and thought about the 2 plus but was kinda disappointed with the speaker and ram. Did notice they bumped the storage but was so disappointed with speaker watching any videos I passed. Is a well built phone with good software and decent screen but I really like front facing speakers and jumped to a used HTC. Now I'm spoiled to front facing speakers. Why do you think LG won't put out a phone with stereo speakers? For anyone thinking of upgrading to the 2plus, yes yes. the storage bump and new stylo pen design is worth it.

Great review! Ive had my LG G Stylo for over six months now and it's going strong, however, I wouldn't mind upgrading. Have you tried this phone with Snapchat? My LG G Stylo seems to freeze at times when using various filters. May get it tomorrow!

Aaron Price One small question, Did you notice delay in the touch responses? I had tested out a Demo set in a showroom whose touch responses were slow. I thought it was only related to that set. But when I started using the one that I bought I could see that there's a delay. For example you can try typing a message using the Keyboard and if you type quickly you will see that few keystrokes are not registered. I have never experienced such a thing before in any new handset atleast. Can you please confirm that it is the problem with all LG stylo handsets cuz of its low RAM and processor or just with my device? And if it is a normal problem how can I improve the touch response?

I switch my sim card from a Stylo 2 plus, a Galaxy S7, and a LG k20 plus all the time lol. The only complaints with the Stylo 2 plus is the fingerprint scanner sucks compared to the k20 and S7 and it is also only 16gb which isn't great. Otherwise good phone

Stylo 2 is the better phone. Worth the upgrade and the money. I will say the stylo 1 though is made is Korea and you can definitely tell the difference in the build quality

I have had all three and I'm waiting for the first one to come in the mail again I do not like the 3 at all the screen is very easily to get wet and mess up really quickly and the fingerprint is cool but it gets tiring when you are accidentally put your hand or finger back there it opens when you don't want it to open I like the first one better than the one in the two

The Style is a mid-range phone. It's not meant to really compete with the iPhone when it comes to specs, however the Style is a great phone and a decent price. If you want a LG phone that competes with the iPhone check out the G-Series
