I really liked that you allow beginners like me to do the banana handstand, other KZbinrs say that it's just not acceptable. My HS is not extreme banana, my legs remains touched together, it's just a slight banana which I'm not able to fix for a month now. But now after watching your video I'll surely follow all these steps, thank you very much!

You have the best overall tips for handstand. Done best progress with your tips and knowhow. However, some more shoulder mobility videos would be nice to see.

The “one-two” drill is very helpful! My longest hold after 7 months of training is 26 seconds, so I’m getting there. All this with a pretty bad lower back. In any case, my kick ups are incredibly inconsistent. Thank you for the great drill!

Amazing tips, thanks! The one about your arms getting bent when your hands are too close to each other and you're lacking flexibility is awesome and I've never heard it before! It's something I noticed with my handstand but never figured I can just spread my hands a bit farther apart.

Does having an unbalanced platform or ground gravely affect your handstand? Also that index finger pointing straight was really helpful
@PaulTwyman Жыл бұрын
Great the finger position made a difference. Overtime the floor or Handstand surface won’t make much difference but when learning it makes a big difference

When I'm against a wall I kick up and barely even touch it and can hold my handstand 6-7 secs.. But when i try to do the same in the middle of the room I can seem to hold it for longer than 2-3 secs... What am I doing wrong?
@ملتقىدجلةوالفرات2 жыл бұрын
Where should u place ur hands when kicking up to the wall?
@PaulTwyman2 жыл бұрын
different for everyone but a good place to start is one hand space away

In Handstand or while kicking up?
@Jonathan-456-s7l Жыл бұрын
@@PaulTwyman Thanks for the reply ,i think during the handstand is my bigger problem , because pften my knees and hip just start star bending over(like in a bridge ) over my head and i cant keep them in this "locked" straight position. Ps. Kick up is also not completely straight but it is improving the more i train it
@PaulTwyman Жыл бұрын
@@Jonathan-456-s7l yeah it’s normally a combination of mobility and position of strength. Daily hanging can really help the mobility and chest to wall conditioning holds can teach the body a better position

I just cant seem to get enough stenght to kick up all the way, despite having practiced for years. Would you have any suggestions?
@PaulTwyman Жыл бұрын
Hard to say without assessing. Can you hold 45sec + chest to wall handstand?
@nadinekinzer3443 Жыл бұрын
@@PaulTwyman When I step into it I have enough momentum to kick up into a handstand next to the wall and am also able to hold it for 45 sec (although perhaps not very much longer). I am still scared of falling though so cannot do a nice straight chest to wall handstand at the moment.
@giannisakrivos5955 Жыл бұрын
What is a solution if you kick up and your hips stuck in pike?
@PaulTwyman Жыл бұрын
This is very common if you have a yoga background. Try bending the knees more as you go up and learning to balance/control with the shoulders not the hips
@woodfamily52292 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the encouragement. I am up to a five second free handstand, but do I look like a banana. I’m glad you made me feel OK about that. I need to figure out how to fix it though

Is it normal to feel a bit out of breath practicing kick up if I am a beginner? Can't even imagine doing 10 reps in a row 😅
@PaulTwyman2 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s totally normal. You will be fighting yourself a lot when learning which uses up loads of energy. Stick with it and it will become easier and easier
