He was definitely a great tenor; however, you can't say "the greatest of all time." Truthfully, we don't know who the greatest was/is because opera predates audio recording. Literally, countless tenors had lived and died in that period, and we'll never know just how they sounded. What we can say is this: he was undisputedly one of the most commercially successful tenors of all time, who still to this day amazes people with his immortalized performances. This is a fact; therefore, it cannot be disputed.

I just saw this documentary and I can say that it is a very emotional, very beautiful, and a brilliantly-assembled tribute to one of the great tenors of history. If you love Pavarotti, you will not be disappointed. As a documentary, however, it is flawed in its one-sided approach to the man who was Luciano Pavarotti, giving short shrift to his betrayal of his first wife and three daughters, his behavior with women whom he met in professional relationships, and his difficult personality with those he worked with. it is a marvelous tribute to a great singer; however it chooses to pull the curtain on certain uncomfortable realities of the man’s life and personality.
