The fact that probably around 75% of his goals were just plain highlight reel material is incredible.

I don't know if we will ever see anyone as special as Datsyuk on the Red Wings ever again. His talent was generational. What a blessing it was to grow up and watch him play in Detroit.

The amount of nostalgia from my childhood in these clips is overwhelming. “Wooley to datsyuk! Scores!” Makes me feel like a six year old playing mini stix while the wings were winning.

It's crazy to think that at the end of his time in Detroit, Pavel was playing through serious tendon issues in his ankles. His hands, his vision, his understanding of how the puck would react every time it touched his stick, he was absolutely incredible to watch. Thanks Alex for your hard work and dedication. If the Red Wings official media team haven't contacted you yet, they're absolute fools.

Datsyuk was always in the right place at the right time. I think he could read the puck better then just about anyone. Red wings today are severely lacking someone who knows where to be and when to be there. There not good at anticipating or reading the puck. Anyone else agree?

As a Red wings fan, watching the 2008-2009 season with Marian Hossa who had 40 goals of his own... and Ken Holland signs Johan and Hossa leave leaves for Chicago, we could have had at least another cup. This is the best video for ever uploaded to the hockey community. Every player from the 2000-2015's have scoured the internet for Pavel highlights most of the videos don't results in goals. This is the all meat and potatoes.

he thrived on chaos, his back hand, and his ridiculous hand/eye coordination. he RARELY spent time handling a bouncing puck. touch-release. one goal, you could actually see him on slow motion, coax a flying puck to behave and send it. generational player. the amount of kids playing hockey inspired by his style must be staggering. he was global.

I would estimate that 20% of this was edited a year or 2 ago while I was experimenting with other compilation ideas, and the rest was finished in December/January once I realized I was gonna hit 25K subscribers around the All-Star break. This project was not something I ever expected to be able to complete, but it started to become a possibility in the last 2-3 years and just this past summer I got my hands on the last goal I needed.

He skated for two years with severe tendon problems in his ankles. He couldn't hack it anymore in NHL and he admitted it afterwards. He was never as fast as he used to be and for a finesse player like Datsyuk agility is the most important attribute.
