High-temp POR-15 paint goes on the BMW M50 engine block!

Hey guys in this video I wanted to give you guys another update on the M50 block. I'm no pro, but wanted to try and see if POR-15 would hold up as a brushed on base coat! Cheers.

WD40 will dry out. Try a coating of assembly lube for long term storage. It's designed to dissolve into the oil when you finish your build and run the engine. It also provides some protection on your first start.

I'm so glad you did not do a primer coat before putting on the High temp coating. POR-15 directions state not to do that. This high temp coating goes directly on metal. READ the manufacturer directions before use, Always. Each product is different.

CLP by Lucas or some LPS2 spray are my go to, also mystery oil , cause WD40 will dry bro

How is the high temp holding up after a couple years? I was told by POR-15 customer support not to use the high temp paint for blocks because it wouldn't get hot enough to cure the high-temp paint properly... they told me regular POR-15 is good for temps up to 400-450 degrees.
