Hey there, thanks for checking the Stacked Golf KZbin channel! We’re Jon and Ashley, a husband and wife team of amateur golfers looking to share our love of the game with our viewers. Our goal is to inspire more golfers along with people who have never played before to get out on the golf course and have fun regardless of their age, budget, or skill level.
We find all kinds of golf deals at garage sales, thrift store, flea markets, auctions, online marketplaces, and more to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to start playing golf or upgrade your current golf bag. Along with our thrifting adventures, we specialize in reviewing the cheapest golf gear, gimmick clubs, As Seen On TV golf clubs, crazy training aids, and more to see if they are worth checking out to improve your golf game. You will also find course vlogs, golf challenges, and budget golf course reviews from our travels. We both love the game of golf and want to share our adventures with you.
Here’s a little about us: While most kids were watching cartoons, Jon was studying the Golf Channel to learn how to play and improve his golf game. He spent most of his childhood on the golf course and loves trying out new golf clubs and gear. Jon also loves to fish and kayak. If he could he would spend all his time on the golf course or catching giant bass.
Ashley is a beginner golfer with no athletic background whatsoever before attempting to pick up the game of golf. Her unnatural ability to read the green has made her a great putter but the rest of the game is still a work in progress and we hope you enjoy watching her improve on the channel. Along with golfing and budget shopping she also enjoys trying out and creating new recipes and using Jon as her taste testing guinea pig.

It was apropos that you showed the RAM TOUR GRIND commercial prior to finding the MIZUNO MP's. Payne Stewart (who died in a plane crash) had a hand the the design of the MP33'S as told by Lamar Haynes. (Lamar was Payne Stewart’s close friend and teammate on the SMU golf team). Lamar brought the head of an old Ram (Tour Grind) 7-iron along with him to show me. Damaged and bent from the crash, the club was with Payne on his final flight. He had it with him to show his guys at Mizuno as a model for a new set of irons. That Ram 7-iron belonged to Haynes and Payne had always adored the way it looked at address. “Payne also used my old Mizunos the last year of his life,” Haynes said. I had received the MS-4s 10 years earlier from Payne in 1989. They were like playing with a shaft on a knife. The sweet spot was so tiny on the MS-4. They made the MP29 and 14s look like game improvement irons. Payne used those. Then Harry Taylor at Mizuno designed him an iron, which later became the MP33. The 29 and 14s were very sharp and flat-soled. Well, Payne loved this old Ram iron set that I had.. He asked for my Ram 7-iron for Harry Taylor to model his new set. He liked the way it went through the turf. He had it with him on the plane. This is the club that started the MP33.”

For a long time, played my Dad's old Ram Investor II irons after he got a new set of 845s. Haha, back when 845s were new! Now am happy with my Adams CB2's, although I still love that OG Ram sand wedge-- still in the bag today :)

Happy Birthday Jon! Great video. The chipper with the wood was quite the thing back in the day. Northwestern Golf did a lot of that during the change over from laminated maple and persimmon to steel. They did for the traditionalist who were still wanting to hold on to the wood clubheads.

Just for fun, I looked up Susie Maxwell to see who she was. Susie Maxwell Berning is a retired American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1964 and won four major championships and eleven LPGA Tour victories in all. She also competed under her maiden name Susie Maxwell from 1964 to 1968. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2022.

The MP 5’s are a larger muscle back. Prob easier to hit than some cavity backed clubs. They will be in your bag for a long time. Great find.
