An easier way to acclimate them (at least for me), is to leave an old shirt of yours in the crate with them. They will be comforted by the scent of your shirt. Works excellent! The first two weeks with a new puppy is the best and most crucial time to invest into training/ housebreaking. After that you should be golden!

How do you keep puppy from peeing and pooping in the crate at night and day when you are away at work? We can't seem to keep up with out two months old puppy.
@PawVlogs6 жыл бұрын
Some dogs hold better some don't hold much. Personally I start by finding out how often they need to go potty. I am very worried about this poo and pee in the crate (I hate cleaning it from the crate) so I usually take a lot time off work when I get a new puppy so I have a lot of time I can train it right from the start. I take the puppy out 2-3 times at night so they can potty before they 'practice' toilet in their won crate. During the day I do not crate my dog much so they have toilet breaks. 2 months old puppy need to go every 30-45 min. So it does take a bit of time. Once after they learn where to potty (not in the crate) it's much easier. And as they get older they can hold much longer, you can just take them out to potty once every 3-4 hours.

Meka Irving for night time (sleep time) I would try 2-3 times if the puppy is 2 months old. You will see if it need it. Out for potty time is around 5 minutes or less. I found my dog didn’t pee twice at night so I began only once each night after the 3rd day. I noticed you mentioned during the day. If possible ideally I would try to keep crate time during the day less than 3 to 4 hours. Make sure they don’t need to hold while they are in but just to rest an make it up with plenty of play time before / after crate time

@PawVlogs6 жыл бұрын
Is it more than days a week? Most breeder in my country will say not suitable. I thinks it's very tough for the dog 8 hours away is along time. It's way too long inside a crate. If you really want one and is committed to look after it all its life, My recommendation is find an young adult dog, best from a rescue shelter which they can assure you the dog is small, so the apartment is enough space for it and the dog is toilet trained to toilet on the toilet pad (as you work so long it's hard to potty train a puppy). And most importantly, the dog is super low energy ones that does not like to move but sleep all day.

Less water before bed time certainly help too. It will take a bit of time for both of you to work out a routine go potty at a fixed time. Can try 3am instead and work around a time that works for you. Most puppies only need to get up and pee upto 4 or 5 months then they can hold til morning.

You do all wrong. First crate is far to big for puppy. Should only be size if puppy. So he no have room to move much. Also this prevent the shittings and pissings in cage since dog hate doings where they sleep. Also you have water bowl. Big mistake. No water in cage ever. Then you take out for peeings which is mistake. Puppy need learn to hold all night. In small cage will not go and will hold until let out. Also if does piss or shits, then will get dirty from it and learn lesson. Also must punish if piss & shit. In dog pack the mother dog will punish bad behaviour with beatings. You must mimicking the mother dog. Dog understand only power, not understand be nice because is cute. In India we know how teach dogs. They listen after punish and beatings.
