To all the people out there, guys IT WORKED!! I'm so happy! I got my puppy yesterday and when I crated him I first tried the method according to which you crate the puppy and you do not open the crate door no matter what. It was a disaster. He started chewing everything and jumping and screaming like he was dying. At some point I realised it wouldn't work so I tried this method as shown in the video. It took him a good 2.5 hours to finally fall asleep peacefully but today he remembered everything and it was so much easier! It took 20 minutes this time. I'm going to shower now, and he is sleeping like an angel in his crate. He is a 2.5 month kokoni dog. Sir, thank you so much for sharing this video! You saved so many people out there!❤️

I rarely leave comments on videos but felt compelled too! I got my first puppy in 2022, followed your video and he was crate trained by day 5 (10 weeks old). We got our second puppy a few days ago, re-visited your video and he was crate trained by 4 days (8 weeks old). They’re both miniature dachshunds. Your videos have been incredible, i followed every step and it paid off! The first few days are always hard, both pups screamed bloody murder and I was afraid what my neighbours would think (we’re in an apartment) but be persistent! After I left, I’d wait 10-15 minutes before returning (depending on how loud they cried) But eventually a few days later, after 5-10mins, they would naturally settle down and I would repeat the steps as necessary during late night potties. Whenever I was losing hope or feeling anxious, I’d return to your videos, re-watching them & reading the wonderful comments. Everyone who’s shared their experiences have been so helpful and reassuring, it gave me so much hope during hard times that things will get better and our pups can do it! I wanted to do the same, this video was posted 5 years ago and still works like MAGIC! Good luck to those training new pups, be kind to yourself, revisit the videos if needed and don’t lose hope, there’s wonderful experiences in the chat that will support you through this hard time 😊 Thank you PawVlogs!! Optional Tip (depending on the size of your dog) mine sleeps in their crate at night, they hate being there in the day as they associate it with bedtime. Now in the day I switched to a big foldable playpen and have separate spaces for bedtime vs. daytime and they much prefer this (no crying/ whining, they will happily play/ relax in the day pen knowing I’ll return) 😊

After watching a million videos and reading thousands of articles and trying every trick in the book, I was about to give up on ever sleeping again as my 10 week old Golden Retriever cried nonstop for 2 weeks. After watching this video at 4am in the morning, I started training her like this. After only one session she already started to lie down inside. After two she was sleeping. And the third one of the day she slept through the night! Thank you so much!

Literally the only method that has worked. FINALLY we are getting sleep and our pup is doing well at night. Had to do this every time she woke up the first night and went back in after her pee. Then the following night she went in every time without a fight. Any time we need to, we do this method and it’s a quick response from her and she lays down. She started longer stretches within a couple days as well. No whining. Thank you for posting!

We got our black lab puppy three days ago at 8 weeks old. She likes her crate but just not sleeping in it with the door closed. The last few nights have been tough. She cries for at least 45 mins before she goes to sleep at her initial bed time and every time we put her back in after a middle of the night potty break. I tried this tonight about 25 mins ago and after 15 mins she got the hint that whining isn't going to get her out of her crate. I left the room she's in about ten minutes ago and she has not whined once and she is sound asleep! We will keep working on it but thank you for the great tips and videos. They are a huge help!!

People, when I say this works, THIS WORKS !! I bought a female husky puppy and mistakenly, because of her cuteness my wife and I had her in our bed the second night. On the third night we wanted to crate train her for the future, so I tried this, and on the second try, leaving her then coming back after she screamed to the top of her lungs, I did it. I left her and went to bed. I kid you not within SECONDS she was knocked out sleep. This man is a life saver ! Thank you so much !! Easiest training ever . Can’t wait for tomorrow night !

This is UNBELIEVABLE!!! I can't believe how QUICK and easy this worked! I have an 8 week old rottweiler pup. First night he screamed and howled all night like he was being butchered. I tried this and it worked the first training session (puppy laying down calm). And it only gets better with each training session. I took it a step further and gave my pup treats when he stayed quiet and also started to create distance from the crate until eventually I'm out of sight, rewarding him when he remains quiet. I'm now sitting on the couch with my pup in the crate and he's quiet! It's only day one of trying this! DAY FREAKING ONE 🙏🏾 I promise you before this, if that door closed, he was howling and whining like he was dying. Even if you were sitting next to the crate.

Also for anyone just trying this, the first week for me was HARD. It felt so impossible, but after the 7th day or so, it was like magic all of a sudden he didn’t fuss once I closed the door. Stick with it. My pup would eventually just close his eyes and sleep (whining for less than 30 seconds) By the 14th day he no longer wines at all. Sometimes during the day he goes in his crate to play. Now that he’s comfortable in his crate, I’m trying to teach him the command. It took a lot of patience, but it was worth it.

Dude... you are a ninja... this is so amazing. It was like 11pm... first night with puppy... crate is in our room like everyone said we should do... he's crying sooooooo bad. We were both about to cave in and let him into our bed. My wife suggested we watch some KZbin videos on 'puppy first night crying'. This video was the first to come up. I was SUPER skeptical. Just a guy in his living room with a funny shirt on. Unlike all these polished, edited, videos from training schools we had been watching. It was only 6 min long so why not? I watched in total disbelief... no way... it can NOT be that simple. We figured what's the harm? Poor baby was pawing at the walls and crying VERY loud. No way this was going to work... It totally worked. I felt like I was hacking the matrix. I mean it instantly worked. I didn't say anything... I didn't do anything more or less than what you described in the video. We were able to actually get a few hours of sleep between potty breaks! Whenever he'd start crying again we'd let him out to go potty, come back in to the crate, he'd cry some more and we'd do this method... back to sleep! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

Amazing video helped me with our new labadoodle. She was very unhappy being in the kitchen area with a baby gate. I sat outside the gate so she could see me and verbalized NO every time she started bark-whining and within 10 minutes she got bored layed down and has been asleep for almost 20 minutes and counting now. Set a 2.5 hour timer to wake her up and take her out tonight around 2:30 am and my wife should be taking her out at 5 am after. So far working like a charm so thank you for this general training advice helped us so far to reinforce good night behaviors. Also if anyone is concerned about not having a crate etc. Just know the method works with or without the crate (at least for our dog so far) just sit in visible sight ignore the initial temper tantrum and watch as he/she will get bored and just lay down and start to fall asleep. Repeat leaving quietly when they are bored and coming back to sit and watch until the puppy stays asleep and make sure you set your alarms to wake up and take out the puppy and repeat this process (I am assuming as I'm currently doing this now at midnight hahaha been almost a perfect 30 minutes of quiet. Took prob 25 minutes after bedtime was initiated to get to the "sleeping") Good luck to all the new and future dog parents out there sleep is possible while renforcing good night behavoris!!

Omg this has helped me so so much I cannot believe it. We have had our cockapoo for a week now, he was 10 weeks when we got him and tried crate training and read so much information and nothing worked. He was being unsafe and biting the bars and got his jaw stuck 3 times so we gave up and had him in our room on the floor, but we still weren’t sleeping much. I tried this method this afternoon and have got him to go in twice now and settle so quickly. I’ve even been able to leave the room very briefly and sit out of site. This is the furthest we have ever got and it’s taken 30 minutes! I will be trying over night now solidly and hope this can solve our crate problems!

Thanks a ton for this vid. At first I was skeptical because I didn't see any "experts" recommending this, and I was worried that it would consume the pup by sending mixed messages. But after seeing all the positive feedback, I gave it a shot. And it really works! I'm not having perfect results, but definitely good results. The pup still cries a bit, but generally sleeps through the night without accidents, and that makes it worthwhile. Now I just need to get him to consistently eliminate outside...

Great method! One thing I want to add that will help all you fellow puppy crate trainers, is do not let a puppy have too much space in his crate. Use a divider, if he has more space than his bed, it invites the behavior of peeing in his crate, wherever his bed isn’t. Much love! Good luck all of you!

We had a hard time with crate training our first dog for the first few weeks. (She’s fine now, just hit a year old and she’s fantastic) We decided to get another pup and I came across this video by accident. HOLY CRAP it really works.. like what!? All the other videos online have you getting up.. every time they cry letting them out to potty and eventually letting them cry it out.. with this obviously we still let them out to potty throughout the night but if you make sure to keep them on a feeding schedule and make sure they potty before bed shouldn’t be an issue for long. Man I can’t appreciate this video enough. 10/10

Anybody who comes by this video and wonders. THIS WORKS AMAZINGLY WELL. My mini dachshund understood the "game" very quikly and training lasted 4 nights. After a month I have removed the door from the crate, he sees it as HIS den and goes in himself and enjoys time alone there. I just took the advice of this video and tried to make sure there were no negative experiences inside the crate. I have only added with time saying "night night" as I leave, to inform and command that now is quiet and or sleep time. Playing and exploring time is over

First night went even better than I expected. We work nights so our schedule is a little different than most. I started at 7:30am and done the process. He calmed down and when he laid his head down I went to my room. He started crying after about 10 min. I let him cry for 5-10 and then got up done the process again. I only had to get up 1 more time and after that he let out 1 more cry and that was it. I got up after 3 hours to take him to pee and he was awake but very calm in the crate. So I'm not usually one to comment on things like this but oh my goodness it works so well! We've had our puppy for one month now and hes never gone longer than about 5 minutes in his crate without barking and whining. With your technique we're going on 10 minutes! Doesn't seem like a lot but this is such a big accomplishment!

Great. hopefully it gets easier and easier from this point on.

I just bought a cage for my 6year old dog , & she knows how to get in the cage without hesitation but when we were heading to bed , she walked in her cage & started crying in the living room. So I brought her to my room with the cage & I was watching this video & I did all the technics & it worked !! About 20 minutes she started laying down & sleeping :’) I can sleep now

So my dog literally fell asleep in his crate the first night while I was watching this video! Magic?!?!?. Let’s hope he keeps it up! Good info here, looks like it’s working very well and pup isn’t distressed.

I’m reading these comments and praying I can come back with a success story as well! 1 week with our 8 week old puppy barking her head off for 15~30 minutes after we put her in crate at night. I guess she finally gives up but it’s very stressful on us all and I really want her to be calm and relaxed when we put her down for bed. 🙏🙏🙏

Got my husky puppy today, got him a really nice crate, a bed, crate cover, toys and overall a lot of things to make sure he's happy. However when it was time for bed it broke my heart hearing him whine 3 mins straight and when I went to check on him my eyes got all teary I couldn't do it. He's sleeping soundly on his little mattress 4 feet away from my bed and he is just the sweetest, idk what to do with the crate.

Omg…. This works so well. Sitting here with my 8 week old blue nose at 2:30 am and he did not like the cage whatsoever he would cry and yelp so loud I would give in. I’d say I spent about 20 or so mins doing this and after a while he didn’t even ATTEMPT to escape as I left the door open. He is now sound asleep with the door still OPEN!!!!! omg I didn’t think this would work but it did I’m amazed!!!!!!!

How often do you potty time your dog?
@carrieconley43072 жыл бұрын
@@zedshockblade7157 whenever he wakes up yelping during the night . That’s how I knew he wanted to eat or use the bathroom so I took him out and did both. But at 8 weeks I’d say about every two hours. It gets better after a few days. He can stay in the crate just fine doesn’t cry at all anytime I put him in there. It’s going on two weeks of me having him and he does very good in the crate. If you dog is sound asleep don’t bother him I learned my lesson lol

I watched this and I was a bit sceptical. My 10 weeks old puppy was very hesitant towards the crate. It took me 3 days of trying for him to even enter it willingly. I think he must of been kept in crate all the time. Once he felt comfortable to go in it himself I've tried this method..it took me 5 minutes and then only 2min of crying..and that was it. Full night off sleep with one potty break. Next day he started to go into crate to nap and chill - no issues.

I brought home my 6 week old Doberman pincher puppy two days ago and the first night my son held him until 3am and finally went to bed, unbeknownst to me he did not crate him but left him to roam the house, what’s surprising is that when I woke at 6am I thought “OH NO” but the puppy was fast asleep on the floor at the bottom of the bed and thank goodness had not messed with anything left on the floor. The next day I did not allow my son to hold him so long and put the puppy in his crate and the crying began. I did not give in and left him in his crate and I must have been worn out myself because I slept through the night over the all his loud crying. Well today I came across this video and I must say this is an excellent video, I tired this and it worked for me, I kept closing door when my puppy approached it and finally he got bored and began to play with a bone in his cage, then he fell asleep, a few minutes late I purposely opened the door again which woke him and again closed it each time he came to the door, finally he laid down and went to sleep. After the potty break I repeated this same things and they worked again. I can tell this approach is going to work very well for my puppy and though it may take a few more tries and some patience I will continue using this technique because so far its been the best crate training idea of all those I have watched on you tube. Thanks for sharing it.
