I hope the next update adds more options for machine empires. AI cliches are no fun. You basically have 3 options; -Auto from Wall-E -Skynet -Borg I wish there was some path to becoming the Ancient Caretakers or something like the Bobs in the Bobiverse. Edit; the foreshadowing was insane.

@@cmdrtianyilin8107 me too, however, maybe a AI gestalt that is neutral to biologicals is better. About the non-gestalt "Robotic Survivors" origin, the robots would need much, much nerfing. They cant have 100% habitability everywhere (at most, 50% in worlds most opposite to your home, and at most, 70%), and acess to machine worlds are traded off for ecumenopolises. The gestalt council is lost too, and leaders, though immortal, the older they get, the more malfunctions they get (1st one at 60y, second at 80y, third at 100y, and so on. Malfunction cap is 5) (these malfunctions have many types, and they are impossible to remove unless you use a special agenda. There exists some types of malfunctions, and they all have (at least) -5% happiness and are debilitating one type of thing (research, worker output, advanced goods output, unity output or general -15% happiness for governors, example). You can remove them with the "Maintenance" agenda (2x cooldown and 2x faster to launch agenda), or one of the 2 ascension 3rd perk. The 2 ascensions are either embracing your robotic components and ascending beyond, or becoming organic and becoming a robotic descendant. To unlock one of them, you need to complete the archeological site at your homeworld (5 stages).

In Stellaris, I played this origin. My faction is a human faction which is called the "Confederate Republics of Earth". Yet, every time I fought the Minimar, the Confederate Republics of Earth was beaten every time; With and without allies. I will not lie, this origin is one of my favorites though.

hey red king! I have an Idea: Having a date for when you are saying an event. when you said in minute 9:39 it is said that they decided to turn it into a mighty warship, and then in minute 10:10 the retrofit of the warship is done. without dates given on the screen, it implies that the decision was made and the ship was instantly retrofitted when this should have taken months or years. Thanks!

One of my favorite Empire's I've created has the Payback origin. I made my own lore for them and go back to that save every now and then to continue the story. I did a role-play as Humanity and thought it would be the so called Greys we met in the 50's, Humanity worked with them until we realized what was happening.

I pre ordered this dlc. I have 100 hours in Stellaris, yet still have always played on Citizen because I suck. Once I got First Contact, I played Payback on Cadet, to ensure I would have a tough battle ahead. Once I contact MSI, they declare war, but are weaker and get demolished. Very disapointing. Needless to say, I won't finish that playthough. Next will be fear of the dark. I hope it's better.

I unfortunately play on console so I don't have everything up to date according to the PC version, but we just got all the new origins and stuff that came with Overlord and I gotta say I'm enjoying it. It was surprisingly fun to start as the tech-focused vassal of another empire and eventually gain independence once our technology was even better than theirs and we have such good relations that they agreed to simply release us from vassalisation when we asked them nicely. But I would hate to owe something to a megacorporation, the most corrupt and untrustworthy of xeno scum.

Nah when i first played this origin i had fanatic purifier home world 4 jumps away from mine and they declared war on me in the first 10 years and i somehow won a very close battle like i ak saying my home systems starbase qas at 2000 health and all of my ship were in retreat

Gives an interesting perspective. You are oppressed, rise up and get payback. For hundreds of years this was the goal. Now what? What happens after? Will you lay down arms or will you opress your former masters? Assert a line and dominiance that we are the good guys but this is a neccesity to ensure it cant happen again. Now you are the tyrant but you are good right? You have the good interest in heart? Where the children of former MSI responsible for their parents sin? Will they embrace change or seek "payback"?
