Great prices. Luckily we’re still paying just over 1€ for mayonnaise here in France. We buy tinned pate here too. Other than that our food is still twice the price of the UK. We pay over a euro for tinned potatoes.

I think they do the price thing as slowly as they can to gradually acclimatise us to the change, much like the way they cook a lobster.
@botulf4908 Жыл бұрын
Lobsters are put in to a pot of boiling water. You are thinking of the myth about frogs in cool water that is brought to the boil and the frog just sits there and dies....it's a myth, the frog leaves well before any dangerous heat will affect it.

Lobsters expire of placed in cold fresh water. There is no need to boil alive.

When we ran a cafe we found Lidl so much cheaper than wholesale in many ways. The butchers was always great though. The big pork loins were definitely great value if you sliced it into 'chops' first then bagged it for the freezer. So tender it takes little heat to flash fry.

Love watching your videos. I can't believe how cheap food is there! I'm in the USA. PRICES here are much higher on everything by comparison. I shop sales and make sure I compare by unit prices/ per pound type of thing. And put things aside in another room. Praying things don't go as expected... for us all Blessings from the U.S

Ana, that looks like a massive haul! My best larger storage jars are the large pickled cucumber ones, the ones that are about 6 inches in diameter.. We eat a lot of pickles, and the extra large jars have quickly accumulated. I bulk buy spare lids for several sized jars as the originals can carry the smell of the food. The big jars are great for all types of dried food storage.

Yes it was a bit big 😊. I know the jars , they are amazing , I can buy them in wholesale shops with pickles or onions but they are not cheap 👍

good haul that is. its still the way to go prepping and preparing to go off grid, with everything going on it makes sense, there's something in the air that the shortages are coming back, thought it months ago, and its coming back, glad I've been stocking over the two years, when I do a haul, the shelves are fully stocked so i don't get what's going on, there plenty of food, there's something in the air that isn't right. maybe there working on a rationing app for purchasing or for our electric. i would put it past them. i purchased a kelly kettle thanks to you never herd of before, but what a great invention, keeps you warm, can cook my beans on there, can make a make shift shower with a plastic bottle, its a life saver, it would be a good idea to get a few water bottles in, as the kelly kettle can boil the water and you can put it in the water bottles and shove them in sleeping bags, if they exclude us from society because of a digital id. total peace on mind having one I've been using it in my garden and trying not to use the electric as there trying to rob us, its nearly £20 a night to heat the house, i can find better things to do with £20, can get food for two weeks for that, thanks for the kelly kettle idea, now I'm thinking of water filters, because there playing the water shortage card. great video, look forward to the next one.

Thank you for your video. God, ... your prices are still lower than ours. I dunno, you look like a pickled Onion person., ... lol Do you like pickled eggs? I cut up and pickled Hotdogs of all things, and they turned out great. Go figure. Oh yeah, and since that worked out, I did the same thing to some Bologna. I'm going to have to look into making my own pickled Onions now. Oh yeah, the onion sets you have. You know Onions are a two year plant, right? First year the bulb, and second year the seeds. I was having the hardest time storing my Onions until I realized the "sets" the small onion bulbs I was planting had already grown for a "season" by their clock so they do not store as well. Onions grown from seed store a lot better because they have something to live for, their seed eh? The things I learn. I've started canning Swiss Chard, Kale, Beet greens, etc. and pass them off as Spinach. I don't grow or can Spinach. The canned Spinach will be over cooked to say the least, ... and the Old Folks here demand their veggies be boiled to death so all is well. AND! I just found out you can pressure can Turnip greens and they are the preferred canned greens in some places. Who woulda thunk it. I'll have to try them now. I found some Coconut cookies, or biscuits as you'd call them, and thinking they would be a "keeper", I bought a slew of them and nibbled away until something else came up to nibble on and then I forgot about the coconut cookies. Well I took a pack out last week only to discover they went rancid! The chickens liked them. I dunno, I thought Coconut stored well but it's obvious that there was more than Coconut oil in them. Hmmm, I haven't bought curry sauce but discovered I like the Mild Curry Powder they sell in the HUGE bags in the International Section of the store. So I've been buying that stuff and packing t away in mason Jars with Oxygen absorbers. It will either work to keep the spices fresh, or it won't. The future will tell. I feel good about my bean supply but I am buying dried Chickpeas for Hummus. I also want more lentils but can't find green Lentils for some reason. Just red Lentils. Our Split Yellow Peas disappeared for awhile too but they are back now. I bought a couple of large bags of Split yellow Chick Peas from the International section thinking they were split Yellow Peas. It pays to read the label properly eh? It was only printed in three or four languages but I only looked at the things. You know what I find funny? I can buy Hotdog Relish, a product of India, packed in a glass jar and shipped half way around the world cheaper than I can buy Relish produced in my own country. Ahh, the joy of owning cheap economic slaves who have no choice but to provide you your eternal and entitled profits or starve to death themselves. The Gulag of Poverty creates the incentive in losers such as myself that would make us agree to flip those "for profit" burgers, "serve" those for profit tables, and clean those "for profit" toilets all for a part time, minimum wage, no benefits, position of subservience. Can we say Yessum Massa? Good thing I was never good at saying "Yessum Massa". The Money Masters of the world have succeeded in transforming the abundance of the world into the worth and value of their eternal and entitled profits for the benefit of the few, the elite, the entitled, and those great winners in a perverted world of win/lose. Right? Humans are stupid. Just the fact that we must prepare for the shit kicking we are about to receive proves that point. We will die by the Billions you know. Remember, I write to the future of this dismal and failed Age of Self Inflicted Retardation. The Age of S.I.R. And! I work on the Ways of the Win/Win and the Economics of Time for the future child because this present population will only deny their own redemption for it shows them to be perverted human filth who are far too easily corrupted for the benefit of others to ever develop the ability to benefit their own children. Sad but true. If we had the ability to work together in respect, dignity, and diplomacy for the greater good, the highest potential, the Holy and Divine Win/Win, we would be doing so now and we wouldn't be the poor perverted people of the win/lose mentality whose highest potential is everyone loses. AKA Hell on Earth. Oops! I'm ranting, .... again. Forgive me please. And good luck eh? I'm thinking you'll make it. Oh, and Win/Win.
