It is wrong to consider sanskrit as a monopoly of Brahmins (with the notion decrying sanskrit is the only way) so much so to associate Tamil only with the Dravidian movement. Tamil Scholar U. Ve. Sa, U. Ve. Swaminathaiyyar was by birth a Brahmin, he was instrumental in bringing most of the bygone era Tamil literature. But for his efforts, we would not have got so many epics in Tamil today. Interestingly he was a student of Mahavidwan Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai. He literally had to prove his credibility to learn from him. It is said that U. Ve. Sa retorted to his grandfather that he wishes to learn Tamil so that it will make him realise his dreams in this world and the other world. The mystery of divinity eludes the machinery of speech and symbol. Let us grow beyond all this caste politics and teach our children to learn good in which ever language.
