The only surviving example now in Florida. Howard Hughes bought this particular aircraft BuNo 7099 in 1946 after the war to prepare to fly the Spruce Goose. He kept it at the soon to close NAS Reeves in Long Beach California. It sat there for many decades even long after that airport was sold off and used for other purposes. Eventually in the 1990's it was donated by the Hughes Tool Company and moved to Florida and restored as a museum display. The only reason it exist is because of Howard Hughes.
