I worked at a bowling alley growing up and am a competitive bowler but I had a great influence by the GM who was there. Whenever we bowled he was just having fun with the moment. You could tell things would bother him but he would still smile and make a tongue-in-cheek remark and move on. I thought it was much classier than freaking out or kicking things though. We also had a responsibility to represent the bowling alley so we just learned better ways to cope I guess.

I'll tell you this, the way Randy stepped off and spoke to the guy who was heckling him at the 2005 TOC was the kindest tell-off I have ever seen from any bowler on any national telecast. Randy knows he's capable and he's pissed when he doesn't deliver. Pete Weber used to get NASTY with people who would distract him. Another bowler I have witnessed getting nasty with people is Walter Ray, and I never thought I would see him do that. Pete Weber IS better now, but I HATED him during his ball return kicking, swearing tirades. He was REAL bad. What I'm trying to say is, it's the PBA, not WWE. Being great at something doesn't make it okay to have a bad attitude. Being great at something and being benevolent about it? Now that's the type of person I want to see win. I understand that people think these kinds of attitudes should be something to get more attention to the sport of bowling, but I'd prefer to not see people get affected negatively by others because they got in their head. I'd want to beat someone at their best, but raising my voice and celebrating will not leave them at their best. It's also going to needlessly hype me up as well.

I think you intentionally destroy equipment, it should be automatic disqualification from the tournament, financial penalty (at least 10x the cost of whatever you destroyed, and elimination from play for, let’s say half a year. Best comment ever, these bowlers need to learn to just have fun with it even though when things are not going they're way. That's the whole point of being a professional bowler this is their careers this what they dreamed to do when they grow up so in my opinion. I say that even if you not going to win on TV the one thing the pros should be proud of is making it this far. Because trying to make it on National Television is really hard when you have to play 30 games in qualifying to get into the top fives to advance to the telecast competition to compete for the title.
