PBA Televised 300 Game #34: Jason Belmonte

Jason Belmonte vs. Dom Barrett in game one of a Race to 2 Points championship match in the 2022 PBA Tour Finals. It was Belmonte's second televised 300 game, making him just the fourth player to bowl two in title events, joining Sean Rash, François Lavoie and Chris Via. Earlier in the event, Kyle Troup bowled a 300 game in the Group 1 stepladder semifinal match. Troup and Belmonte are the first players ever to bowl a PBA televised 300 game on the same day.

@@burnpittsburgh7036because either 1. people think bowling is a sport that you play after getting drunk on 12 beers or 2. they laugh it off since they think anyone can score high games with today’s reactive. but that’s some seriously faulty logic since EVERYONE’s scores go up. so you can’t be a 210 house bowler or a 220 league bowler and be like “dAmN tHIs gAmE iS eASy” when pros can walk into any house, grab 15lbs house balls and shoot 250 averages. No reactive needed for them to wreck all of us in a 3 game total pinfall match and it just shows how good they are, yet people just dismiss their skill as a product of the technology today

it's my sincere that the sport of bowling once again achieves the popularity it once had. where I live it used to be huge, bowling centers everywhere. some operated 24 hours a day. I hope one day that happens againnationwide. It's such a great sport.

@@oldworldorder9424 what do you old heads not get... There’s more bowling balls in the building in these tournaments than there were people thinking about bowling competitively. There’s far more technology in the balls and they are bowling on harder patterns and to say the fields were deeper is almost comical. Belmo,Rash, Tommy Jones, Chris Barnes, Kyle Troup, Ej Tacket, Anthony Simonson, Jesper…just to name a few are the fields these guys have to bowl week in and week out. The format to make the TV shows is close to 50 games getting to stepladder. I understand being in love with your generation making a strong assumption you’re older but you can’t watch a tournament today and say with a straight face what you decided to type out. It’s 100% satire

HUGE Credit to the PBA KZbin Channel for not spoiling this, and just posting this video much later. Thank you very much for that! A recent example of spoiled footage would be a Disc Golf ace in a skins match. If you are following the channel you have great anticipation of each episode considering the large Ace pool... Bowling a 230 on a house shot is a completely different beast than bowling a 230 on the oil patterns the PBA guys have to deal with. 230 would be a really good average, but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out.

The PBA is allowing the balls to be used for the remainder of the season. They are banned for USBC national events only at this time

16:27 - how can "Belmo" be +62 from the 238 dude when he didn't even roll the ball yet? It seems like it should be +52 (290 to 238). +62 assumes he will get a 12th strike that game but what if he instead rolled a gutterball?

That part is based on max scores… so if each person strikes out, this would be the difference

That is actually more accurate since he didn't knock down those last 10 pins yet when they show +62. Also, how would that "anticipated" scoring system work for amateurs? Do they assume 9/ (9 and a spare) for them?
