Why does it give me such glee to watch ARod trying to figure out what ARod is going to do next. Wonderful. Great video as always. Some of the worst words in my dictionary, oil in the valley. Ugh. Some jobs on my truck, I LOVE doing, not working on the turbo though. I would suggest your customer get the entire PUSHER intake system, they are a wonderful product, and make working on your truck so much easier, and look beefy pops. Thanks ARod, you the man, if I lived near you, I might never work on my truck again. But I am not moving back into the winter hinterland.

The convenient under hood tray for the bolts is my favorite feature on my 14’ F250 6.7 KR 255’600 miles. It’s been really handy now that the miles are creeping up. I never get tired of watching these tear downs. Good job. Lots of fun!

I've seen lots of these. In 2015 they updated the turbo to receive lubrication through the pedestal instead of the tube from above.

Man oh man. I’m still leaking. Not as bad but attempt number 1 was a lower oil pan but it seems they just missed the mark. Still leaking out of the lower oil pan.

Why didn’t you tell me about this possible leak when I ask you a year ago? 😂 Months ago the dealership said they thought I had a damaged O ring from the DCR install and replaced it. It leaked on the way home so clearly it wasn’t the O ring. I was finally able to bring my truck back to the dealership today. I shared this video with the head of the service department. Hopefully they can figure it out.

The worst oil leak I’ve had on my 2016 is the oil dipstick union where the upper half slips into the lower half in top of bell housing. That was a pain in the but to fix, I learned that you need to real careful moving around the dip stick A sign is oil leaking down the drivers side bell housing from up top and it is ALOT of oil. I caused the initial leak by installing a SPE piping kit and their dip stick bracket is crap.

Unrelated question. Does the Diesel Particulate Matter Sensor at the end of the exhaust, over the rear axle have to be reset after replacing with a new one?

@jamesmorris8685 no. Entirely different. You're going to need to get ahold of a higher level scan tool that can access that part of the ECU

S&B makes a spacer for the Map sensor, just put one on my 2018 6.7, super easy to install if you have little fingers ( which I don't). Unfortunately another thing that I don't think Banks makes for certain trucks.

Hey Aaron have you tried Rubbing Alcohol to remove the rubber boots it works great on motorcycle and bicycle grips. Plus it dries really fast.

Mine wasnt just the turbo supply it was the turbo leaking. Cost me almost 6k to fix. I already got hit with the 4001 and had to replace the cooler and the EGR. Ford paid for the EGR Cooler but not the EGR. Ive also had to replace a grenaded Transmission that went at 80K, and yes I did the 50k fluid exchange. Ford said sorry, out of warrenty. But, I cannot afford another one, the trucks are out of a retirees price range. Oh and I also lost my Injector harness that was misrouted and burned through. Ford wouldnt pay for that one either.

@rickscott7350 l'm, sorry to hear hear about all your issues. I bought a 2018 last February. I only have 42,000 miles on it. Supposedly, there are lower and upper oil pan leaks associated with this vehicle. I passed on the ones with the 10 speed transmission. There are too many unknowns. Unproven technology.

@@johnshuler1396 I went from a 99 Dodge Diesel to this. I had troubles with it and it was costly to maintain. The ford had the most Cab Room for extra passengers and they were well liked by my RV Club members. So I bought it. However, its every costly to maintain. Oil Changes are now 200 at the Mechanic I use or 250 at the dealership. The Fuel Filters are 200+ at both. I dont have the tools are knowledge to do my own. Thus watching Bearded and PTT and Rainman Ray's. I cannot afford a new one, the are priced out of reach for the normal person. So this one will have to be kept up.

Hey Aaron… Is there a starter upgrade over Motorcraft for the ‘17+ 6.7? Looks like I’m needing a new starter at 94k miles on the 2017 6.7… in the past it would randomly spin but not lock on startup 1-2 times then start. Last night it spun 7-8 times and then started. Could it be a bad solenoid or starter?

The solenoid IS on the starter. Prolly need a new 1. Nope no upgrades thru ford...

@ Aaron have you ever replaced just the Bendix or ring gear? From what I recently read, if it’s a bad solenoid the starter would be slow to crank and if it’s a bad starter, would just click which isn’t the case with my starter… it spins no problem but doesn’t always lockup.
