Just got the pump replaced on my Escape (Kuga II as it is called here in Germany) under warranty after 2 years. 1.5l engine. Looked under the hood and wondered, why there were new bolts on this motor mount thing. Now I know! Thanks a lot for this series of videos! They show you really know what you are doing! Always appreciate a good craftsman when I come across one! Cheers from Germany!

My daughter’s car water pump died at 108,000 miles. I have been working on this thing for about 5 hours. First since I’m changing the water pump should also change the timing belts and if so how can I reset them....Secondly, the small pulley has to come off, correct? Lastly, where can I find those rubber pieces to help keep the chain in place. Thank you for your time.

Believe he's hammering rubber wedges on either side of crankshaft and timing belt to hold it in place. Similar to wedge he hammered in place to hold front cam and belt. And he also painted belt and cams to mark where they were.

Quick Question man, I do these on the Escapes, but Friday I did on the Fiesta 1.6L, I've done this so many times but the one time I messed up because I was rushing at it. But what happen was, I did everything far as marking and stuff. But It seems to me the Cams moved about a tooth off. I didn't even realise it till I went to get start it up, What happen was It took like 5 seconds for the engine to actually fire up. (Cranking Longer than Usual) But it ran good after it started up, So i'm like, I screwed up that timing. So I went ahead to take it back apart and found that the cams are off about a tooth or two. I didn't fix it yet due to late in the day. Do you think the Valves hit the pistons? I didn't feel the engine running off or anything, just took a long time to start up. Not sure if these engines are Non Interference or Not.

Thanks for these great set of videos. I have a 2015 Fiesta ST, and it is leaking heavily from around the water pump area (same motor as this car). My car does have only 8k miles on it, but did run hot for about a minute because I forgot to bleed the cooling system when I coolant flushed it. Do you think this is what caused the water pump/gasket to fail so early?
@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod 7 жыл бұрын
Sam, thanks!!! You should have taken your vehicle into the dealership. Your vehicle still is covered under its factory warranty, 3 yrs or 36k miles. No I don't think that is what caused the leak. They had a bad batch of water pumps, yours probably just crapped out. Let me know how it goes!!

Sam, thanks for the info. I mean if there was a way to test and prove that it indeed caused it, ehhh possibly...likely hood, probably not. I have done LOTS, Sam LOTS, probably just got a junk pump. The part has been revised with different guts so they obviously knew somethin had to be changed.
