Hi Arod, You inspired me to fix the winch install from my dealer on my 2024 f-350. I ordered the trim they tossed and a new radar cover they really cut down. The key is: thru several hours of careful disassembly, To remove radar sensor (3 nuts being careful not to spin the upper left adjuster post) , the fairlead bracket (4 bolts), the fairlead (2 bolts), and loosen the 4 Allen bolts holding the winch. You also need to remove the engage arm by removing the small allen screw which holds in the engage arm, This gives you clearance to play. With the fairlead bracket held in place you can place the center trim and cut the right hand side closer by matching the three alignment holes already machined in the fairlead bracket (really nice of warn to make those holes). Once the center trim is cut, install the fairlead bracket making sure the holes are centered. Now pres in the 4 plastic push retainers on the bottom and only three of the four plastic retainers on the top, leaving out the third one from left to right. This is for clearance of the fairlead. Now the tricky part. On the 2 bolts which holds on the fairlead, I placed the lock washer on the bolts first then inserted the right hand bolt first. I then placed a flat washer and the acorn nut with blue lock tight. The left hand bolt is easier to install with the fairlead in place also with a flat washer and blue lock tight on the nut. Once the fairlead bracket is torqued, you then need to push up on the winch as far as it will go for the clearance needed for the engagement arm and tighten the hex bolts to secure the winch. In my case I needed to file off 1/16" for extra clearance so it does not hit the plastic which is based on the bumper position I did not want to move. Install the engagement arm with the allen screw, re install the radar being careful not to spin the adjustment screw, the left hand plastic cover and the trimmed right hand cover. This video along with the updated install instructions helped greatly and turned what I thought was going to be a nightmare of an install into something I did myself in my driveway in the better part of a day. Great install video. I have the same winch installed on my F250 Platinum Tremor w/6.7. Unfortunately I live in a state that requires a front license plate. I've been searching the web for a solution. This winch does sit recessed, so it's hard to find a hause mount. What have you or your viewers found that works? Thanks

great video. I just installed it and was easy. I'm wondering if I'll experience any overheating since I'm removing the lower air scoop. The winch takes up that space now. it seems that air intake was substantial for cooling.

Use srewdrivers or pinch bar to hold winch in place till you get a bolt in. Also no TORQUE Wrench...I guess next FORD recall 😂 I would put silicone on hot lead studs so no short or nut backoff.

Sorry for the off-topic question I have a 2016 Ford F250 and I am having trouble with my starter or actually with my truck starting if the key is in the run position and I ground out the two post on the starter. It will start right up but it will not start with the key. I looked underneath everything seems to be connected but the small wire going to the starter is yellow but right next to the starter it’s another wire with the terminal that is not connected to anything . I will send you a picture if I can can you tell me what this wire goes to I am at a loss I appreciate your time and again I apologize for the off-topic question. Ford says you need 2 but winches have been put on trucks for years without a second alternator. You do have 2 batteries so I think there's enough power capacity to run a winch. Really , how often are you gonna make a super long demanding pull with your $90k new truck? If it does need add power, a bigger (aftermarket?) alternator could be added or better batteries (more capacity). It's your truck so ultimately you make that call. If you *order* a new truck, the computer builder makes you choose the dual alt option, but im sure accessories are added ALL the time that ford doesn't necessarily 'approve' of , or say you need x, y, & z to be added first. Just do it man! I would if I had one!🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🛠️🔩🔩👍🏻👌🏻

I have a 2021 tremor f350 and had the winch installed by dealership. My cruise control only worked for a year and hasn’t since. Dealer said the bracket bent from using the winch wrong. The truck has never been side winched and can’t fix it. So frustrated. Anyone ever heard of a sensor relocation or a fix to my problem? I regret getting it so far, love my cruise control

Those are cheap looking fasteners. On the closeups, they look like they're standard not metric sized. OE fasteners usually have captured washers and/or flange bolts and nuts. Like the original ones you removed. Also the coating would be black oxide or zine plated. I'm sure the grading is correct and will do the job, but this is what annoys me about aftermarket add-ons. This is, in no way, a critique of your workmanship. Thanks for the video.
