You're welcome. As long as you have access to disconnecting the battery cable and nothing else is covering the battery like a flex cable, you can remove the battery. You don't need to remove the main board or additional components.

Hello again, I replaced the battery and it is getting the right voltage. I did not touch any of the cables other than the one for the battery, but the phone does not turn on now. It shows the blinking charging symbol and goes back to staying turned off. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks!

Okay, so i love repairing things myself so i decided to do so with my phone (same as in the video). My question would be. Where does the digitizer connect to the motherboard? I thought i have bought what i needed, lcd with touch screen(replica). Turns out i was wrong, after connecting the new screen it displays nicely but the phone still detects my touches on the broken screen even tho it is disconnected. Which makes me realize the digitizer is separate from the screen, and is separately connected to the board.

The screen and touch digitizer glass are fused together as one part. You would have to replace the screen assembly and would not be able to just replace the touch glass digitizer.

Hi I have looked carefully at your video, I have a relame gt master edition identical to that of your video, it has a year of life, but I have noticed for some time that the gps receives very badly, with a phone next to my wife, she receives 10 satellites, me or none or 1 only, in fact I can't use the navigator, after a while she begins to tell me that she can't find the position, that's why I realized that something was wrong. I tried to turn the gps off and on again, and also the phone and do everything they recommend on the realme website, but no results. In your opinion, is it possible that the gps antenna has come off? Can you tell me what the antenna is and if it is possible that it disconnects from the motherboard? Thank you

First of all, thanks, awsome video.2nd, if i`m not mistake this is a 8gb version, i have a 6gb version, can you tell if is the same to disassembly pls?1 week ago phone turned off and since then only vibrate any 5 seconds, no light, display off...i try volume down/up and power on button and all other combination and nothing, only vibrates any 5 seconds.Maybe someone has the same problem and can tell me what is the problem.Anyway, thanks again!

Hi, disassembly would be the same. Maybe you have a hairline crack in the screen that is hard to see that is preventing the screen from working, or a loose cable etc.

This scored a 7.5/10 Lol. But the Poco F3 was more modular, Each part could be replaced like the Type C Port, The Sim Slot, all be it more time to take apart. I think its important for a phone to be modular first. If Anything happens to either of the components of the Realme either the suboard or the main board is gonna be replaced, which adds more cost to the repairs. I wud rate this a 5/10 for reparability. And the Fact that most of the stuff is adhered to the main frame of the display via glue feels cheap. One thing is for sure no phone that comes back from a repair gets proper thermal paste re-application, Hence the phone wud always perform worse in synthetic benchmarks marginally worse. I have seen the same with refurbish units of Smartphones where the heat management gets poorer post repairs.

I am working on a repair ability score chart for my videos which I will implement and go based off the chart for scoring each phone to better explain how the score was reached. I will start applying it to future videos once its finalized so it can be more streamlined and understandable. Also yea, proper installation and quality of thermal paste after disassembly would be important. But also one cant just install any thermal paste because thermal pastes vary in conductivity and some are much more conductive than others, and if a highly conductive one is used and it happens to spread to other chips around where its not suppose to be, it can short the phone.

@@PBKreviews Ok sure. Thermal Paste isnt electrically conductive, it just has to conduct heat, so electrical shorts shudnt be a problem. I have seen many repairs where they just dont care about thermal compound re-application post operation. Even Service Centers forget it. It can affect Performance drastically, and might not performed the way it was supposed to out of the factory, due to air pockets within the paste, drying it out faster. Even Copper Shields that get deformed when removing cant be reapplied just like that. Out of the factory they apply smooth machine cut sheets like stickers. Once u open/fold it creases form b/w the sheets not allowing optimal conduction of heat. I dnt know why but this triggers me XD - That's why I don't buy refurbished Smartphones, usually they open those up for inspection/repairs or whatever and never retain the factory standards thereby do not hold on to OEM warranty.

I used to do repairs a long time ago back in the Nextel/iDEN days and on, was one of the first people doing repairs where people worldwide were sending me their phones to fix and customize. If it detects a sim, just doesn't connect to a network, it can be a locked/blocked phone, bad sim card, or something wrong with the antenna on the phone.
