For less than the 3050 another option getting better with each update is the arc a750 though that 6650 xt is still better. They keep improving and I hope they can keep going to add to the competition for amd and nvidia. Just need good upper and mid cards.

All that took was to stop spending on the premium Cosair AIO, case and silly white PSU and he got his 4070ti. That last build really connected with me, since I built my first PC in Aug-Sept. of 2021 and used a white Corsair/ASUS theme as well. I lucked out by getting that white Corsair 5000D Airflow case, like new, for about $86. Then I proceeded to overspend on the air cooler and CPU, which left me with an overpriced 5-year old GPU until I could afford to upgrade to an open-box 3070Ti. But even so, it could still play some games at 4K, including the original Skyrim, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, and Witcher 3.
@Aaron_Lesse Жыл бұрын
I bought the same motherboard too, and $150 is a great deal for it! I paid about $20 to $30 more. Also, I haven't noticed any less performance by using the bottom slot for the GPU, which made room for a Gen 4 NVMe adapter card in the top slot for more m.2 storage.

Not gonna lie, I really appreciate these videos because I keep coming back to them while trying to plan my next (and long overdue) upgrade and try to fine-tune things here and there (actually subscribed because of the deep dive on the setups and how to improve them!). Considering I've been rocking an i3 4330 and a 550Ti since 2014, with the only significant upgrade so far being an MX500 SSD, I need new parts. Some are already set in stone, like going for a 6600/6650XT (unless something new gets released in that price range, just 1080p60, MAYBE 1440p in the far future), or being cannibalized from my current build (monitor, a couple of mechanical drives, SSD, CM Centurion 590 case with GOOD airflow and CM Silent Pro M 850W PSU). My only "issue" is what you referred to as "paralysis by analysis" in your Ryzen 7600X build video, and it's choosing which platform to use. I know AM5 is currently in its early days, and despite the slightly elevated costs on B650 boards and DDR5 RAM, my train of thought leads me to believe it'd be the wisest move with a non-X R5 7600 because of upgradeability in the future (as seen with AM4). That is, assuming there'll be a BIOS update for these current boards to offer support for the next generation or 2 of CPUs, and wait for them to drop in price and get one final upgrade that could last another 5-ish years. Worst-case scenario, go with a 7800X3D by the end of the motherboard's life cycle. On the other hand, I could go and grab a 13400F/13500, or even go budget with a 12400, slap some RAM (DDR4 for budget, DDR5 for 13th gen, MAYBE), a compatible B660/760 motherboard, and forget about upgrades other than more RAM and a new GPU for a decade or so. Considering gaming and some productivity (coding/compiling and occasional video/photo editing) will be the main focus of the build, and again, coming from an old build that will be repurposed for other stuff, what would be the best option: Buy and pray for later upgrades with AM5/B650, or buy and forget with 13th gen/B760? Thanks for the in-depth videos! AM5 build: pcpartpicker.com/list/3N8tDq 13400F DDR4 build: pcpartpicker.com/list/wfWs3y 13500 DDR5 build: pcpartpicker.com/list/h8g4Ls

This is what I would do. For production work you'd want an Intel CPU not AMD. Also you'd want a Non-F CPU. Nvidia is also better for production work but they don't have a good under $300 GPU so I stuck with AMD. Jason has said no reason to go DDR5 with Intel Storage: Solidigm P41 Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($58.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: ASRock Challenger D OC Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB Video Card ($289.99 @ Newegg) Total: $829.33 If you want to save money you can go 12400 and RX 6600.

Hard to build a PC on this budget. I don't think his CPU is a bad choice at all. Even if it's "too good" for the current GPU, it allows future upgrades and it will still run nicely in a couple years. I would have recommended a 3060 and an i7 12700k, or the i5 13600k. Alongside an MSI Z690 board and a big cooler like a Noctua, Brocken or Dark Rock 4. At the current time, I don't recommend buying any more DDR4 ram, especially not the slow 3200. You don't wanna save too much on the power supply either. Hard to build a good PC for little money nowadays.

I think if American PC builders took a glance at my country's market they'd have an aneurysm lol Ended up with R5 3600, GB B450 Aours elite, RX6600, 16GB 3200 RAM, 1/2TB NVMe 3.0, Seasonic B12 BC 550W for around 550 bucks converted from the local currency. CPU, GPU and MB are used. The GPU mainly stays between 250 and 300 bucks used but I got "lucky" and snatched mine for around 220

Somehow it still enjoyable to watch these kind of stuffs even after building a PC, gained many insight from this channel but i also realized i made some unwise choices but at the very least i gain the amount of performance i wanted with Ryzen 5 5600 and RX 6600 XT and the aesthetic going on in my PC with majorly white themed PC minus of motherboard, fan, and the PSU cable, and it kinda sucks that the fan i used now dont have the white version sold in my country while this video featuered the same fan with white color.... The key to matching the best combo google the gpu name and then the cpu model and add bottleneck on the end. 5% or lower and your good to go. Cheers

In the 2nd build, the guy specifically states that he wants a NVIDIA vga and you chose to ignore him. In Newegg the difference between 6650XT and RX3060 is exactly $20 - there is open box cards for 309 and 319$ so that's what he should go for.

If he has to have cpu for some reason (compiling, photo or video work, whatever) I would take a light gpu with heavier cpu. Gaming system does not mean that is all he will run, he just may want to play a game here and there (like me). I would take at least extra 2TB for Steam or whatever in that case though (I got 4TB 4.0 ×4). That cpu cooler is off though. Case is whatever you want, 2U for me. Anything goes really, just watch the parts and thermals. (srsly, do not go out and do 2U or 1.5U, there are some real snags).

Got a deal on a SN850 1TB for 125$, a nice upgrade from a SN550 256GB, and SSD prices have been really cheap lately, I've got a 2TB HDD since I horde a lot of stuff, but 1TB is enough for 95% of people, and I would take fast storage over more but slower one any day of the week.

Your last builder said he wanted to do a lot of music production as well as gaming. For that I'd definitely bump up to 32GB ram, especially if he's using sampled instruments (Kontakt) and then you want to pay a lot of attention to getting a quiet system - I would've used a Be Quiet! case rather than Fractal. Also for music production you need to balance fast single core speed with extra multi-cores. I would've liked to see Ryzen 7 if at all possible although the 5600 should be adequate. Finally, my understanding is that for music production, the ram speed DOES matter. You've come up with an excellent gaming PC, but I feel the music production side has been neglected. Hope this is constructive.

Looking to build a 4k pc really the bottleneck I have is my tv is only 60hz. Not sure if I should build a monster 4k pc and upgrade to a high refresh monitor later. Or build high FPS 1440p pc and get a monitor to match now. Trying to keep around 1500ish but I got patience if I gotta save up for more. I’ve never built a PC so I have no idea what a reasonable expectation for the budget would be. Also the Wife would like to be able to do VR. Happy Wife, happy this build might actually be approved by her

I haven't looked at builds in years. But when I upgraded my GPU from the gtx 1070 to the RTX 3060ti, I started looking again. But I think my i7 8700 should be okay for a couple more years. Of course, Intel has changed the cpu chips, so I pretty much have to build another computer when I decide to upgrade the CPU.

What I would change in the last build is substitute the 4070 ti ($839) for a 6950 xt ($699)and you can squeeze in a r7 5700x and it would remain around $80 less than with the 5600 and 4070 ti combo and give more performance because of that cpu upgrade, other than that, super informative video I love it

For sure he Gigayte ds3h would NOT run the i5-12400F at the full frequency,however it is perfectly fine for the i3-12100F. not sure about the AsRock one.

for the guy wanting 1440p and 4k gaming but also music production why would you cheap out on the cpu and get the most expensive gpu you could get? If he wants to do music production, he should be throwing in around 50/50 on the gpu and cpu as well as 32 gb of ram. A 4070 ti is over priced like crazy.

With builds it is worth considering that many games dont need a balanced system. One of my favs is cities skyline. Horribly optimized, as many games are. Single core performance is the key. 3d cashe barely does anything. It would be most optimim to get a killer cpu and ram, sacraficing part of the budget of the GPU. All other tasks dont need state if the art equipment.
