Bill, I bought the GX-E-CS2 on your recommendation. I use it about every other day. I have to tell you, I absolutely love it! I keep my Akela topped off, so only run it about a minute at a time. It’s currently my only PCP, so unless I’m wrong, I don’t foresee any maintenance in the near future. I’m keeping track of the minutes I use it. So…very happy! Thoughts?

Thanks for creating this video. Answered a number of my questions. I have been using one of my old scuba tanks to fill my FX and it isn’t the best solution. The gun needs higher pressure than the scuba tank can withstand safely and the shop that provides fills is an hour away by car. Not to mention the fill charge which has steadily been going up along with everything else. Have been considering a high pressure compressor for some time and your videos have been helpful. Knowing someone in the US has spare parts and can provide support for a foreign made product is worth a lot to me. Hope you can keep up your good work on this platform.

I've so far read that the 230v Yong Heng conversion in the USA is great because the motor works more efficiently, therefore lasts longer. The only "conversion" would be to your house, unless you already have a washer/dryer outlet. I am in the process of modding my YH with an onboard radiator and no need for a bucket, hence just as transportable as the GX. EDIT : As much as I hate not contributing to the local economy, Amazon DOES have the best return policy. I will ONLY buy from Amazon. (Midway USA also is AMAZING !)

I recently purchased the CS4. Beyond being water cooled, its amazingly quiet! Like less than 1/2 the volume of my Umarex ready air. And it's more of a thump thump versus a high pitched whoop whoop whoop. The water barely gets warm after the 1/2 hour it takes to top a scuba bottle from 2500 to 3000 psi. And the water is self contained not a 5 gallon bucket.

Hi Bill, I have just bought a CS3 on watching your videos. The manual says to do the dead head tests up to 3000psi so wy do you recommend testing up to 4500psi. My CS3 test results were 20sec @ 3000psi. Regards Richard
@TargetForge

Great question! Thanks for the comment. In the end, it really doesn't matter as long as you use the same benchmark values consistently. I fill regularly to 4500 psi so I test to that level. If your filling a different gun and 3000 is your choice, that's fine.

I'm definitely stuck on the bottle I would rather lug around my bottle which is in a bag.... then carry around an air compressor and started it up after five or six magazines.... I have a portable compressor and I have a Yong Heng they both serve their purpose but I rarely use my portable compressor ...... I pretty much just use my bottlessssss yes they're 4500 PSI fill and yes some of my airguns can handle that much but they don't have to have that much they not required to have that much ......they don't stop working if they're not at-4500 all the time lol ....... and yeah I can't give up the bottle to be able to fill up my airguns 40 times potentially before the bottle needs to be topped off😍...... yes the yong hang is very noisy jittery and requires a lot of table space to get everything working but when it's working it's doing jobs that $1500 - $3,000 air compressors are doing for $250 yes it has problems yes they break but you can buy a lot of yong hengs for the price of some other compressors and yeah once again I love the bottles to be able to carry that around and leave it up against the tree out in the middle of the woods while you hike around the forest pesting or to have it at your bench at the shooting range and with the Edgun easy fill using the bottles quiet you're not wasting or dumping it makes it more efficient ......my goal is just more bottles lol that's just my feelings and opinions keep the videos coming.

Hello, I'm trying to decide between the CS2 and Yong Heng. We have a group of guys that play paintball and every week I need to fill about 10 36ci 3000psi HPA tanks. It is my understanding that the CS2 is not meant for this use case, but I was hoping to get clarification from an expert as this information has been hard for me to find. Thank you in advanced.
@TargetForge
@TargetForge Жыл бұрын
Hello Sam! The Yong Heng would be a better choice, but probably not the best choice. If you are constrained by price it probably is the least expensive solution to your needs. Two 100cf bottles filled to 4500 psi would likely gas up many of those bottles quick. You could run them in a cascade backed up by a Yong Heng.

ok im desperate to find out why my 1st safety valve leaks air and the pump wont compress anymore after 10 fils.. More precisly what is the blow off pressure on the first stage.. there is ni info anywhere, amazon sell safety valves that are suposedly 175psi this just blows off as well, so what is the pressure and what causes over pressure here ?
@TargetForge

@colinmartin2974
@colinmartin2974 5 ай бұрын
@@TargetForge hello, it's not complicated.. The compressors blows off through the little safety valve next to the purge valve.. The safety valve with its red plastic cover, and made of brass is clearly visible, and attached to the first stage bloc.... I've tried fitting a "replacement" one supposedly 175psi, but I don't know what internal failure causes this to blow off, and at what pressure this is supposed to blow off... A, no one talks about the 1st stage safety valve, and why it's there. B, no one seems to know what pressure it is supposed to operate at. C, the spare one's I bought rated at 175psi,blow off very fast and don't even have the pressure stamped on them, unlike in the photo on Amazon who sell them... Typical Chinese lack of quality... Any safety valve must be stamped to show its operating pressure. Something has failed inside the compressor, possibly causing high pressure blowback from the second stage into the first stage causing the 1st stage pressure safety valve to operate constantly..... That's it.... Pressure in the high pressure 2nd stage fails to even move the main pressure Guage off zero. It's brand new, and was run in for 20 minutes with water cooling, and open bleed valves to let everything settle in. It was used 7 times to compress a 0.75 or pcp to 250 bar. Over 7 days. Then it was used twice to fill the pcp to 290 bar.. Fine. Then on the next and last fill, it failed to reach 290 and stopped charging at 250 bar. I used my pcp rifle again but when I tried to refill it for the 11th time, it just vents air through the 1st stage safety valve.... The importer has offered me an almost total refund to fix it myself.... Charming.... Because they don't have the competance or parts to repair it.... That says a lot.... So do I accept this and buy another one and keep the first one for spares???. Well that would make some sense but just how badly are these compressors made, and what genuine parts are available as there are no parts lists with part numbers. Parts sold that have no operating pressure stamped on them...eg the safety valve. I only buy Chinese products because no one else make them... Everything comes from China, but the big problem is their total lack of quality control... Nothing is built to be the best, it's built to be the cheapest. It's really sad, because with a little bit more effort they could produce great products, but that's not their goal.

I have something to ask if I may ? I have a GXSC3 compressor and it stopped working on me ! It started out I filled one of my guns and it worked fine it only ran for 8 min.s and I let it cool for 20 min.s before I filled another gun when I tried to fill the 2nd gun the fans ran but the pump would not run ! If you held the start button and hit the top of the compressor it would start right up and run but I had to hold the start button in for the full fill of the gun if I let go of the start button the pump would stop ! Now no matter what I do the fans will run but the pump won't run any ideas on what could be wrong with it ?? It's out of warranty now and the company says that there is nothing they can do ! The compressor has less than 2 hr.s time on it !

After the dead head test, how long should it hold air? Mine goes down 8 mpa (factory Guage) within about 4 minutes. It only took 11 seconds to get to 30 mpa which I believe is 4500 psi according to google.

Hello JoshPod! Thank you for reaching out. I've never really worried about a leak down component to that test as its really just a performance metric to diagnose performance later on. The easy answer is that there is a leak somewhere, but with 11 second performance it must be REALLY small. I'd probably enjoy it and go fly some pellets. Have fun!

Please explain the young hang draws ambient air. what if the air was pressurized going in would that not make the young hang work less
@TargetForge
@TargetForge Жыл бұрын
Well, since you asked I guess we can take the time to explore why this would likely end in tears. The Yong Heng is designed to take in AMBIENT air and compress it to ~4500psi. It accomplishes this with a coaxial piston assemble traveling up and down in concentric bores. The large diameter piston takes the ambient air and through its compression ratio increases that pressure and passes it to the high pressure cylinder. If we take that expected ambient pressure and suddenly make that 90 or 150psi and try to apply that same compression ratio either the piston will fail prematurely, or the motor will not be capable of supporting that now MUCH higher pressure going from the low pressure side to the high pressure side. These things operate with little to no margin in their design, they are literally the cheapest of chinese compressors. Putting, what in the Hot Rod world, would be called a supercharger on it would have much the same effect as bolting a supercharger on your grocery getter without SUBSTANTIAL modifications, a substantially shorter and tortured existence. But I don't know this from experience so if you want to sign up for the experiment go for it! I might caution that lots of kevlar and lexan be between you and the experiment. Lol. Seriously, DO NOT DO THIS. IT IS A REALLY BAD IDEA.
