These videos are great for seeing the terrain and knowing what to expect. I'll be in the class of 2025. I know the first 700 miles like the back of my hand. :) Thanks so much for posting. :)

I have such an appreciation of what your doing and understand those awful days; you just want them to end. I just finished a section hike of the PCT (about 160-180). With all the blown down trees, trying to find the trail, going up, over and through trees and taking my pack on and off, I just wanted the day to end. But alas, the wind wouldn’t let us alone. I was just waiting for the locust to hit us. So when you’re having a tough day, I so get it. You just have to dig so deep and know the next day is usually better. You’re doing a great job!

It's so hard to keep the initial honeymoon phase enthusiasm going day after hard day. So many emotions come into play. ❤

The Vasquez Rocks area is really fantastic in every photo I see, especially with the blooming yucca this time, but the sunset shot from before Acton was absolutely beautiful ❤️ Congrats on reaxhing a new starting point, this is a great accomplishment!

Hot stretch for sure. Like all the yucca flowers at the end. Hoping you are staying cool on trail if you are in the area I think you are. Hope to see you soon!

Breathtaking scenery, the kind that transports me, very happy you’re getting to experience it in person. Excited to get to the unexplored territory also though. Rest up and have a wonderful so deserved double zero. 👏🏻🙏🏻🥰

The slo-mo of that bird taking off was awesome! But my favorite video work you did has to be the sunset and also the part where you had the drum beats Play in the background while we saw that gorgeous area! Great progress, great attitude!

Looking good! Better get your head net sent to you cuz there will be many oak gnats, and probably skeeters in your future. Those flying irritants are incredibly pesky. Going great. I hope your break was restful.

I have used my head net a whole lot in NorCal. Oy 😅

In 2014, none of that water was there. Thank the Mill Creek fire station and the ranger station and the water they left out for PCT hikers. Most of mount Gleason was a road walk that year because of Poodle bushes... I have fond memories of The Sauflry's spending one 2 nights and hiking out with a section hiker, Spark, whom I hiked with again just before I left the PCT in 2014. Little did we know temperatures would be close to the triple digits by the end if that section and the water situation would really get worse. What a difference between drought years and years with snow...

Oh man, it's amazing what a difference hike it becomes with more or less water sources available. I did get pretty anxious a couple times with almost running out in hot sections. I got used to carrying extra water through certain sections. The stress wasn't worth the weight savings. The poodle dog was awful in a couple spots - it felt like a minefield. Good times! 😄🩷

May 15-16 I lived in California all my life and I didn't know half of the scenery existed because I always took roads, good job on completing the walk to where you stopped last year. I know you'll do great, you have to be halfway through it already... That girl was vomiting maybe because of contaminated water... How do you clean your water?

Escondido and Vasquez Rocks My stomping grounds. So many movies and TeeVee shows shot in that area too. Some days I just like day walking,- just before the LA RV resort (the little stream after the resort and before the RR tracks and the PCT Marker, was the Mighty Santa Clara River. Bet you just tippy toed across that one!) and then all the way to Mint Canyon - just past the airport. Hope you liked the area.

The little black gnats are horrible everywhere this year. The mosquitoes are also bad.
