PCT #68 The Mountain

I’ve been looking forward to climbing up to the top of Mount Whitney for years. The tallest mountain in the lower 48 stands at the southern edge of the Sierra Nevadas and is for me in a way the final summit on the pct. The spiritual end cap of this magnificent journey. My friends and I take a day and climb to the top of this behemoth before returning to the pct for the night.

Awesome Huck , when I did Whitney in May 2001 it was 14495? Time for another summit hike now that I'm 64

As I understand the stated elevation has changed several times, and in 1988 was updated to 14,505 with improved technology.
