When I hear that opening music it warms my heart. Can't wait to watch you both hit the trail again.

Have enjoyed your channel the last year. I finished all but a small section of the PCT in Northern CA this last fall after doing it over 3 summer LASH's while over 60 yo. I never found a like-minded friend that was interested in hiking and as a result spent almost all of my journey solo. You guys are a gift to each other. Enjoy the upcoming SOBO section this summer. I went NOBO through it in July/August of 2022 and anticipate you'll probably have similar weather and conditions as I had given current snow water levels. No snow except at Mather pass which is past where you plan to exit. Looking forward to seeing your videos and reminiscing.

I've been watching thru hikers for about 3 years now. I could not help but notice that this year the vast majority of hikers posting on youtube seem to be old farts (of which I am one). I blame you guys. Carry on mates

It is great to see you both on a video. I've started watching this years group, but they just aren't you. Many happy an hour was spent last year watching you both. Supplementary question. Hazel and the guy who helped you in the bad snow peak, are you still in contact? Thanks for sharing.

Not as big of a snow year as last year, but slightly above average and lots of late snow. I hope you guys can enjoy the beauty of teh scenery without worrying about how you'll survive it.

You 2 really got me planning an AT adventure last Fall and then in August I went to Alaska and spent every day walking and hiking (my way of prepping for my planned October 100 mile section hike). I got on a plane and headed to Hawaii, with a week of long walks in the sand planned. God had other plans for me; when I landed on Kauai I couldn’t walk. Long story shorter, I’m 6 weeks into recovery from a total knee replacement. Hoping I’ll be ready this October for that 100 mile walk in the woods.

Very interesting answers to all the questions. I followed your entire PCT hike. That's when your videos popped up in my YT. I went back and watched some of your AT hike. Your PCT hike was grueling at times and you two did great. Yes, David, you did get awfully thin towards the end. It was concerning. Joe, you got thin too, but David looked like death warmed over. Haha. But seriously, you guys did super good on trail and emerged victorious. Looking forward to your upcoming hike.

This one answered a lot of my questions and I thank you both for being the source of my answers. I have hiked almost all of the PCT in Oregon and Washington (my favorite) and a bit of CA, but I want to do the entire trail once I retire in less than 8 years. Seriously, you two have filled in so much information that I need for deciding if it will work and I can't thank you enough. Keep up the good work and just Thank you so much!

kudos guys it was an extremely hard year. Trust me I am 30 and I was sore everyday and I really started to feel the wear and tear on my body after 1800 miles so it's not just an older hiker thing haha

Hi guys! Apparently the term "Codger" has disappeared from the english language except for on your channel! I've asked for leeway because ' after all, I'm a codger. I get a look like, "what the heck?" I hit the big 70 last week, so to me your a couple of youts! Beth and I are so glad to see you again (Tom here), and pondering if we can do some trail magic south of Chester! You never know....We'll definitely be up in the Cascades again, and love to surprise some folks that have made it so far north. Chinook Pass is nice because there isn't much leading up to it. So glad we could take you three to the airport last year, what a fun trip. We are relieved to see you both got your weight back, especially Dave. Best of luck in your upcoming journey! your Friends, Tom and Beth Poulsbo, Washington (let us know if we can be of any help)
