PCT Washington Section K (Part 2): Kennedy Creek to Rainy Pass

I can never make up my mind which i like better. glacier peak wilderness or the Pasayten Wilderness. They are both so magical. Yes the Glacier Peak section is totally up and down. After a while you get into a rhythm that makes the climbs ok. The descents still beat the crap out of me. Such a nice video.

I was really hoping for you to get really good weather thru Glacier Peak. But that's the nature of that area. Took me years to see all the views.

Looking back, all in all, we got super lucky with our weather in Washington! Our friends that hiked it this year never even saw Rainier! I know the Glacier peak area is notoriously tricky. I definitely want to hike Section K again someday!!

Thanks for sharing your video. I did section K in 2021 and you helped refresh my already vivid memories. I remember how hard the Milk Creek drainage was, and the best shower I've ever had in my life in Stehekin. Happy trails!

Were all the blowdowns there in 2021? I wasn’t sure how long they had been there… or how long they will be there before someone comes along to clean it all up 😬

@@amykerker Oh yeah! Because of COVID and all the fires they were just starting to do maintenance again in the summer of 2021. There was the occasional blow right from Stevens Pass, but it got gnarly in the drop down to the Suiattle. The worst was a bit south of Cloudy Pass where an avalanche had taken out a whole hillside. It turned out to be easy to go up and around. Previous hikers had left a boot path leading the way, but it was daunting to look at.
