Well this video is joyous. That cinematic thumbnail! The excellent Cajon Pass motel hottub! Food! Random water cache mice! Glad the desert is bringing the fun factor 👌

Fun group. Interesting how you split the trail up over two years. Followed a number of groups last year but never saw you vlog. I've been a long time backpacker ( started in the 50's) and had a friend who completed the PCT last year. Keep the fun going!

Yeah, it’s been interesting! There have been pros and cons, but overall I think it’s been a good way to do it. I’m a teacher, so really the only good way to do it during my 1-year leave would be either to go SOBO, which we didn’t want to do, or split it up. The split gives us more flexibility but has been weird socially with the “bubble”.

@@amykerker I too was a teacher for 40 years in California. Over the summer I ran a program with 2 other teachers where we took students ( ages 10-15) camping and backpacking. Spent one week near Santa Cruz and the other up near Carson Pass along with other activities during the month of summer school. Wonderful experience. We did all the cooking and trained the students to cook for themselves while backpacking. Best 40 years of my life.
