Red to blue eh ?! Intel is coming back? Your guest is very smart and very articulate and I thank him for explaining how to think of AI engines. Excellent conversation.

Meteor Lake is looking like the most revolutionary CPU in the last decade. Really looking forward to trying some AI workloads on the NPU.

Was a big fan of Robert when he was with Team Red - still do now that he's on Team Blue. Hoping for more podcast and talks with him - Cheers ;)

If not wrong we have 4 types of computational workloads 1. Scalar great on CPUs... Why CPUs have ALUs (arithmetic logic units) 2. Vector great on GPUs because of parallelism 3. Matrix great on Neural Processing Units (AI) 4. Spatial great on FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays)

My question to R Hallock - why did you join team evil?

Seriously WTF. Wish they'd just pin something on their Twitter regarding Gordon's absence.

He's on leave for health reasons. They'll let us know if there are any updates or timeline on his return.

How are they touting AVX512 when they broke it on their desktop CPUs recently?

Thracks! dude, man scrubbed his existence off the internet after leaving AMD. Cant find him anywhere!

to me marketing is the face of all evil... but Mister Hallock is such it doesn't even feel like marketing

I feel like they made this episode just following my question posted on the video yesterday. "Bringing it to the full stack in the next 2 years" is sadly way to slow for me. I cycled through the rain for three hours today to various PC shops to find a part for my old system as it's no longer functioning otherwise. So I really want to build a new workstation coming October with new client CPUs. The parallel to GPU misses how memory and memory bandwidth limits model inference. So will we only ever see NPUs with dedicated memory large and fast enough to maybe run 34billion language models at 100 tok/s? Surely the card will be idle a lot of time, so paper efficiency doesn't matter. I know that the two products Intel current has is GPU Max and Gaudi2. However you can't buy those as a consumer for your workstation. And no, "use Intel DevCloud" isn't a solution for me. the setup and costs are way to complex.

Yeah, 😑 now he's going to say how AMD is doing everything wrong lol. These people working at these companies are so fake.

@@-INFERNUS- dude! You are treating him like some politician. Where he works is his choice and he has to represent the company that pays him and puts food on his plate for the work he done. Peace.

I had to go back twice to hear that he left AMD... SMFH.. Intel is forever Poaching AMD's best! It never ends.. And these guy's Jump ship, with no problem.. Wow, there really is Zero loyalty in Business.... It took me to 50 years old to realize this very hard lesson but, honor, trust, integrity, and loyalty, Mean zero compared to money and power. I don't even think I am going to watch this now.. Call me a fan Boy if you want but this guy was just on the show a year ago talking AMD. It's the loyalty of it all for me..

there's no loyalty to company specially if company is traded publicly.

We didn't hear anything about corporate spionage or nda breaking from this guy. He also seemed to have a decent time off between switching companies, so I think he's respectul and honorable enough for an employee. We aren't talking about CEOs or major shareholders here come on

Crying over someone leaving horrible AMD for Intel? Intel just like NVIDIA, have created the most in terms of feature than AMD ever has. What does AMD have to it's name? Bad GPU drivers and... awful FSR 1 & 2?
@johnsmith1966 Жыл бұрын
Welcome to the 21st century. You shouldn't be loyal to companies. The only job of a company is to squeeze as much profit as they can get away with.
@PhillipLemmon Жыл бұрын
When was the last time you USED an AMD driver? I guarantee that you're talking about 10 years ago drivers, lol Also I've seen videos where green teams drivers WENT BACK in performance and even crashed! And Intel.....ha GTFOH!
