Finally, in Bundaberg and a safe harbour. It looked like you were in good hands. I half expected you to be towed at 12 knots! Some stink boat captains don't understand that yachts don't tow well at speed. That said, it looked like the trawler had everything under control and really took care of you. I am really glad to see you're back in civilisation where you can get repaired.

Well, I guess it is part of the learning process, and boy did I learn a few things. Yes, the keel has a crack and will need to be removed to be repaired. The bolts will be inspected during that process no doubt. Thankfully they didn’t leak in the three and a half weeks I had to wait for the tow.

@@Dawnraider Hi just saw your other reply on my email . Yeah I dont think the keel is that bad in my unprofessional opinion and totally repairable. But we will see . Doesn't appeae to be any real damage on the hull or hull seam which can be main issue with hard run aground and shen the whole keel can get pushed up into the bilge. This looks ok. I would be very surprised if they wrote that whole boat off. But I don't know obviously. But it looos positive to me. Flesh wound lol

@@Frazemac1 I hope you're right. I was told to do the keel they have to bring down the rigging too. The reason is, that the boat is subject to flipping over on the ground without the weight of the keel. I can see the $$$$$ mounting up.

@ hey mate I'd question about taking the Rigging down just because he's dropping in the keel. I don't think that's right because of the boats properly secured. You should be able to do that without taking your Rigging down.

If it has a skeg it should tow ok

It has a skeg, but much of that was lost. The tow, however, went very well. She only yawed up to around 5 degrees. We went at around 6.5 knots.

@@Dawnraider hi . Cheers mate. I just read comment about the keel cracked? Where is it cracked? Is it on the hull join or seam? If its not the seam then I would imagine its not as bad as it could have been. Can you elaborate where its cracked. The keel its self cracking seems unusual to me but i am no expert. I would have thought the seem woukd be main issue but I am not sure exactly how that one is attached. My keel seam is directly on hull not on an small extension piece like some boats

Hey, yes I hear what you're saying. I you look at this video, around the 13:57 mark, the keel is shown. The crack, though not really visible, runs parallel with the bottom of the hull and it as about at the level of 5cms or so below the hull.
