Hero Police Dog Finn nearly died in the line of duty, saving his handler PC Dave Wardell, from an armed assailant.
We’re so proud to have presented Finn with a PDSA Gold Medal, the highest honour for outstanding animal bravery, in front of thousands of adoring fans on 6 May, at PetLife ’18.
Finn’s remarkable story inspired a campaign called #Finnslaw. This seeks to lobby Government to change the laws that surround service animals, to provide greater protection and prosecution powers.

I know all about the story of Finns commitment, devotion to duty and his handler Dave and his courage in this incident. I also know about #FinnsLaw and #FinnsLawPart2 I have met Finn and Dave and their family on several occasions and i am proud to be considered as a friend. Even though the incident happened about six years ago, having just watched this video again it still moved me to tears 😭 Finn we all love you 😍🐾

Just finished reading Finn's book. I didn't know about him before that, but I've always loved german shepherds. I hate that the law doesn't treat them as anything more than property. My heart goes out to you two. He's a wonderful boy.

In no small part to Britain's got talent a new law came into force called Finns law. An attack on a police dog is now considered in law, the same as an attack on a policeman and so it should be. To use a weapon on an unarmed human being is a cowardly act, to do so on an animal is even more so.

Especially when that fur missile comes at you full force he will take you down and apprehend you he always gets his or her man !!! The bond between handler and k-9 is so special it's built on mutual love, respect, loyalty, trust, and teamwork they depended on each other lifelong buddies and partners they become part of the officers family a beautiful thing too see!!!!
