I'm a paleotherian ;O; Dinosaur to be exact. I yet to know the species though I do know the family-dromaeosaurid theropod. Which is a family of feathered theropod living mainly throughout the Cretaceous era. I have been trying to find this out for about a year now. Within the two years, I've identified as a therian. It isn't of much importance to me as of now with all time that has passed. So at this point I'm just taking my time. I have yet to meet many paleotherian, which is rather upsetting.

When I was 12 I found therians through teen weres and knew this is what i was. However the community was very small and at school I got made fun of a lot which made me stop looking into the community. However watching this video I realized I never stopped being an Alter human, it had just changed due to trauma, and I had been expressing “copingkin” this entire time. I found the community again and things have definitely gotten bigger and new so here I am watching this video ❤️ everyone’s journey is different, so just be true to yourself and who you are will always be there.

When I 1st heard of glitchkin, I heard it was identifying as a glitch of the universe or a creature that is/was one. And example being: some weird grotesque combination of a rabbit, snake, and wolf, that has very mutated looking features, like 12 eyes, extra limbs. Essentially something that shouldn’t exist.

Tomboyish She-cat well 'glitchkin' seems to include any and all ways of feeling glitched/in parts/not fitting. So I guess that's why they called themselves a glitchkin. But this is a great example of how glitchkin seems to explain an experience around identifying and not really the identity itself. They identify as this mutated being, combination of different animals. That's their kin. Not the fact the kin is glitched and seems nonfitting. It's like I identify as a dog and it's a fact he's white. Thats an important part of my identity and how I feel and the main reason I found the breed "swiss whit shepherd dog" .. but I'm not "whitekin" Glitchkin seems to describe something like suntherianthropy or polytherianthropy. The fact you identify as x animal (= your kin) but you identify in x way (multiple animals in once, nonshifting,... glitchkin would be "glitched") Can you follow?

PD omg I actually was so shook when I saw you responded to me I started choking- Yeah, I guess I get where you’re coming from, however I like the idea of having an actual term for it, as a lot of those kinds of creatures don’t have actual names, kind of like a blanket term, like mythkin including unicorns, Minotaurs, dragons, etc., glitchkin can include different glitch creatures.

Tomboyish She-cat aww sorry! Hha. Usually I Always respond to comments. Lately I've just been a slacking a bit so sorry if you commented earlier too! I'm unsure, as normally an animal made out of different animals wouldn't fit glitchkin. The example you give earlier did due the fact the person felt as if "it never was meant to exist", which is what makes it to fit glitchkin. So it really depends on how the person feels about the identity, not about the species or combination of the identity itself. "Hybrid" would probably be a better word to call themselves. Like I say "dogkin" they could say "hybridkin" or "mutationkin" or anything. As well... normal the combination is this: species one identifies as x kin... you know: plantkin, dogkin, wolfkin, dragonkin, objectkin,... but "glitchkin" doesn't really fit due "glitch" not being a thing on its own like a species. It's more of How something is. Glitched. A glitch is a glitched something. Their species isn't a glitch. It's a combination of animals. Which makes it a glitched combination of animals due the fact they feel its mutated and doesn't belong. The term I'm fine with, it's just the fact I do not think it's an identity due the fact nothing in the definitions and ways it is experienced involves an identity on is own. Its an experience around an identity, and a really valid one! I wouldn't know what other term they'd have used but I know "fictionflicker" is a cameoshift of a fictionkin. Or something. So "identity + glitch" or something would make more sense. Like "mythglitch" or "dogglitch" I'm just rambling at this point hha. I just wanted to give some thoughts and try to explain how it isn't (i think and many others do so too) an identity on it's own like other 'kin, but more a description of how the identity can be experienced. It's real, and valid tho. Just different xD Eitherway it's super fun thinking about this together with you.

Anna Whiteley oh that could be, I just know that Otaku is used to represent japanse media and anime. Not that it is the litteral translation hha. But I see a link between anime and nerd too actually. The therian wiki (a valuabe info site) claims that is the reason why the site "temple of Ota'kin" was started, which was the first ever place for people to talk about their identities as characters. Therefore Otakukin was the first ever term to describe one who identifies as a fictional character. Fictionkin came later. It might be otaku was more often used for "japanse multimedia/anime" back then than now however. Many years passed since :D Thanks for the fun fact

Even tho statisticly way more likely to be tied to a mental illness than a genuine identity experience according to mental health institute numbers. But, even tho the experience may be real, it isn't otherkin as it isn't non-human. So, for me they're all fine (got a friend who had a past life as a knight and still identifies as him in certain ways) but, create a new term plz instead of trying to sneak in a community where you do not belong. She also calls herself 'soulbond' or 'reincarnated identity' or something, she doesn't use otherkin terminology as she recognizes she isn't an otherkin simply.

by modern definitions: non-earthen animalistic being = theriomythic non-earthen being (can be animal if u feel that fits better for you into this category, but usually humanlike like elves, vampires,..) = otherkin in 1992-2010 (up to 2015 even in some communities) any animal, no matter if earthen or non-earthen was just a therian however. Nowedays people have gone into protest against this change and many theriomythics are calling themselves a therian again as they believe their experiences are the same as therians and need no different term. so, by knowing this information. It's up to you to decide which term fits your experiences best

Were is also a very valid term, tho not very often used anymore compared to the 1990's. Therian and therianthrope are now most popular. Along with animalhuman and alterhuman. You name yourself what you want, as long as you feel comfortable. Terms are to help you explain yourself, but I'm sure we can understand as long as we listen

Anywho, I just looked up the definition, and, from the looks of it, Theriomythic is meant for animistic Otherkin/Therian/whatever label preferred, not those with advanced intelligence, though my kin still didn't have a humanesque mind, so I'm still not sure which is correct... I prefer Theriomythic, but I don't really mentally shift in an animistic fashion, and I don't want to appropriate. Does anyone know more about this, and if so, would you mind sharing your wisdom?

I was told by some kin folks that I might be kin, even though I don't have/believe in past lives (they told me there are other "causes", if you will, for being kin) but now I wonder if I am not plantkin/identify as one because I could be a copinglinker... I used to identify as one (as well as synpath and otherhearted) but I thought that I was just Voidpunk. But when I watched a trans coming out video the other day, it moved me and I realized... well, I didn't necessarily feel non-human, but I _wished_ I was. Which feels almost trans-species, if that's a thing. Probably isn't inherently otherkin/therian but... yeah.

there is some overlap between transspecies (yes that exists, tho most transspecies are people who feel disconnected from humanity at all and portray as their species and the like) and therianthropy. some transspecies people are, and some aren't, therian or otherkin. for therianthropy, and otherkin, you really have to feel as if you 'are' to some level, a non-human creature. This could be spiritually, this could be psychologically (by imprinting, selfimage, selfperception, identity,..), this could be neurologically by some theories even. Most often therians and otherkin have experiences that aren't exactly human. Urges, instincts, behaviourisms, 'shifts' in perception and behaviour and selfawareness and thoughtpatterns, phantom limbs,.. if you solely 'wish' you'd have been non-human I guess you wouldn't fit into therian or otherkin, no. But copinglinkers, otherhearted or transspecies might be more fitting completely depending on your experiences. take your time figuring out! :D And I'm here to help wherever I can if needed

@@PDTherian Overlap? 🤔 Interesting! Oh, I've heard that term, "imprinting" but wasn't sure exactly what it meant. Ah, that's interesting. Now I am curious if the urges for certain behaviors and the supernumerary phantom limbs aren't actually a product of being autistic (I've heard this is possible). It wasn't always there to begin with but it's persisted since it began and now I feel then during certain emotions (however, I don't feel pain with them like most kin and they aren't there the entire time). I've got a history of mimicking other animals (of course, not all carried through adulthood but still) and even though kids will be kids, it still felt right, looking back. I already know walking on one's toes is a common autistic trait but it's instinctual for me, as if I had digitigrade feet. I feel less human doing it. Hmm, if it doesn't fit, then I could truly be transspecies, as I wish I wasn't human whatsoever... I know trauma has messed with me, either way I feel like a non-human void trapped inside a human shell... I feel pain being human, you know, like how trans folks feel being their AGAB... But could it be Copinglinker, too? I mean, my therapist already told me my dissociation causes me to be unable to connect with my identity, body, and environment; which is why I feel like an alien in an alien world and why I am non-binary, and asexual. I don't know how else to deal with my dissociation... And since I can't see me as a whole, I end up grouping my emotions into other beings, creatures, animals, and characters... It's like they're a part of me, the only way I can see myself. Also, sorry for the mess of a comment, I didn't even finish my thought on why I mentioned plantkin! I've always felt connected to roses, for lack of a better word, and other than the fact that I am a romantic at heart, I always felt that - on some level - I was one, or saw myself as one. Part of the aforementioned grouping. Ugh, a more messy, long comment, sorry. I'm struggling to find myself lately. That video I watched the other day really did something to me. I wanted to look into otherkinity again because I physically felt my entire self screaming "I don't feel human" or something like that. I was bawling. Hi! I’m a factkin and I need to clear some things up because your definition wasn’t right. 1. Our identity is not to only humans. For example, my factkin types are to a horse named Jack and two guinea pigs. 2. It is not identity theft, nor is it illegal. We do not believe we are the individual, and it is not an attempt to steal the individual's identity, but rather is when one acknowledges their own connection to an individual, a well as the experience of their mentality, emotional state, and mind. We do not attempt to claim someone else's individuality, and we certainly do not attempt to 'replace' said person, or claim that the other person is 'not real.' We also do not attempt to copy the person we kin, as we are NOT them. I have my own unique individually that is mine and only mine, but through a multiverse-type belief I do believe that I am them on a psychological scale. 3. It is a connection TO the individual. You may find yourself constantly thinking about the individual, and feel like you can almost read the individual’s thoughts when with them. I find myself constantly thinking about my 3 kins, it’s like I can connect to their minds and know how they are despite us being far apart. 4. Since none of my kins are to humans, I’m not sure how they differentiates- since it does seem a bit odd to have a human factkin type with how I feel to my kins. Here’s a good example I found online: “Factkin or factualkin are those who kin existing or existed living creatures through the notion of the multiverse belief. A factkin individual believes that they, to some capacity, are mentally/emotionally/spiritually an alternate version of another living organism. They acknowledge that they are not in that individuals head; however, the common belief is that they contain an alternate version of the soul of said individual, a soul from a different universe.” Sorry I typed a lot, but what you said about factkins was kinda really disrespectful-

Perhaps! Nowedays however there seems to be a slight change in terminology. A more exact terminology is in use. Being: Copingkin: someone who identifies as/has experiences of a nonhuman creature due coping (usually due trauma) Copinglink: someone who Conciously at owns choice identifies as/has experiences of a nonhuman creature to cope. Otherlink: someone who Conciously at owns choice identifies as/has experiences of a nonhuman creature. For any reason. Not solely to cope. Maybe either of these 3 terms will fit your experience best? Copingkin falls under the otherkin umbrella. While copinglink and otherlink do not persee but do fall under the general alterhuman umbrella. ;)

a therian is someone who identifies as a non-human animal. So the only thing that makes one a therian is identifying as an animal. If you feel as if you're an animal, mroe than or instead of a human. Then you're a therian. So if you feel as if you're a wolf, truely are a wolf but knowing you're physically human..Then you're a wolf therian. If you like acting like a velociraptor, than that doesn't mean anything. It's not that I like eaing pumpkinsoup that I identify as a pumpkin or that I cannot identify as a wolf because wolfs do not like pumpkinsoup ;) Don't focus on 'I like' or 'I do', focus on 'I feel', 'I identify as'@@sarkasimkova711

That's an opinion, not an identity :) Simple. You're free to have that opinion, however be aware that official research already disproved that opinion. Due multiple factors we're excluded from being a mental illness (such as: we're officially found to not be delusional as we're at all times aware we're 100% physical human. And therianthropy doesn't necessarily influence ones life negatively like depression would do.) You got clinical lycanthropy tho, that is an illness where one actually believes to physically be non-human or to be able to shapeshift into something non-human. Other researchers already proved that the human mind, brain, is so strong and comlicated that it can non-physically identify as litterally anything. Even if it sounds weird or doesn't make sense. So you're free to have that opinion, but know that it's nothing more than a closed minded one that is based on nothing and disproved by research. It's like an opinion that the earth is flat. It's empty and pointless. Oh and if it helps, I've been screened (for other reasons) by psychiaters and found to be completely sane, normal and healthy. I'm not mentally ill. @@alibolink0719 nah not exactly. Am in fact quiet sick of attention after being the biggest active therian youtuber in the world. I'm actually pretty normal in real life. I finished highschool, go to university, have a job, have a partner, have an own home, have a loving regular family and am very healthy. I wear normal clothes and I'm that random person that sat next to you in the train or who sold you your bread. I live a very normal life :) How I feel internally + how I project myself online does not define me as an entire person. Even a child of 6 years old would know that honestly. So I'm sure you'd understand. Now if you have nothing Original to say that wasn't said by 100's before you.. and isn't disproven by official research or simple truth.. I highly advice you to spend your time elsewhere. A cool hobby, ur friends, a family member to visit,.. maybe money to earn? A car to drive? A house to pay? A job to go to? Ya know
