Hi all!
My apologies for the HORRIBLE echo problem.. I still haven't managed to fix it yet and it has been one of the reason why I haven't made any informational videos like those lately. Besides that, I've been extremely busy with university and had some family and financional issues to tackle (and I'm still doing so).
For this weeks video, I've listed Theories of why & how therianthropy became a thing but also causes behind individual therianthopy.
That's 5 Theories of why humans started to identify as non-human! But also 5 causes of ones individual therianthropy!
Keep in mind that I'm not all knowing and can impossibly note every single possible theory, explaination or cause. Every therian has its own theories, and every therian has its own explainations, reasons, causes and experiences behind their identity.

I like to believe that in a past life the animal you identify with died cause of unnatural causes. Ones who died of natural causes at the right time pass on, but the other ones came back as humans. Whether the human form knows it or not they have the animal soul inside of them. At least, that’s what I’m leaning toward right now...

The Kitty Bean I’m a Christian as well, and though I din’t read the Bible all that much, I did look into this a little when I realized my therianthropy. From what I could see (I might have missed something) the Bible doesn’t say what happens to animals when they die. I myself believe that most of them go to heaven, though since they are animals sometimes they are sent back to earth for whatever reason. The Bible never says anything about how you couldn’t identity as an animal. Therefore I do not think it is a sin, and is definitely real. If anyone else saw something at missed than just let me know so I can check.

​@@thekittybeans That's an interesting theory. I've always thought that though animals can't learn that sort of stuff through books or stuff its always just kind of been in the back of their heads. Not as a thought or anything, they just know what Jesus did. Of course I can't know this for sure, but it would make sense that all of God's creation at least knows the tiniest thing about him. The idea of maybe an animal coming back to learn more is an interesting idea. One that would make sense. I did look at one thing and the bible says that humans and animals are souls, and heaven is a place where people's souls (except for the exceptions of course) go after they die. This would also mean that animals go to heaven. Maybe some animals want to learn more when they realize this and God gives them that opportunity. This also could tie in with my theory where animals didn't live the life they needed to learn about His creation so He sent them here to a life where they would be able to. Quite the interesting theories I'm getting from talking with you! Thanks!

I saw something like that too, and your phobias are what caused you to die in your past life The only issue with that for me is I’m a new soul, so that couldn’t have happened for me. My soul is so new that it’s ambiguous, though, and when it changes it causes me to shift! I’m a little sad though because it rarely gives me phantom limbs and I have to induce them, and even then usually it’s just a small weight and a tingle on my back or head.

i am a psychological therian with a wolfdog kintype. It is because I have always had a connection to dogs and now knowing what therian is i can experience phantom limb feelings and realize that i have been experiencing shifts for as long as i can remember, along with constantly pretending to be a dog as a kid and thinking i was literally part dog when i was young because of my animalistic behaviour and instincts and my heightened senses. although i now realize that i can't simply be a dog because i have also been influenced by wolves and i know i shouldn't be a fully domestic animal, its kind of just a sense of knowing that i am also part wolf so therefore i realized i am a wolfdog :)

I've been inactive in the therian/otherkin community for about 2 years now and your channel is basically the last piece of therian media I watch these days. i used to identify as a therian (wolf) because i am hyper sesitive (and also have autism) so i needed an explanation for heightened senses such as :, smell, hearing, feeling,...... i felt at peace as a wolf caus i could identify those fenomenon, but after feeling and seachingh for a while (and also beating depression ;D yaass) i didn't need to have this wolf protection anymore....and i let it go (so...i wasn't really a therian but still....hope this is helpfull for anyone)

@@GrianyBunch wel. It was mosntly becaus of my hyper sensitivity, my hearing and sense of smell are very senitive. Also i was going through a reallyyyy tough time. And i kinde lived in my fantay world to cope. I didn't think i was an actual wolf. I believed i was a human with a bit of wolf in it. When things got better i quickly realised that wasn't real in my case, and that i used it to feel more safe. Als a "wolf" i felt like i didn't have the resposibillity to be perfect, and that my sensitivity was normal

I think I've been a naiad in a past life long ago, and my soul overall is the one of a (winged) wolf. I don't really have any memories of my past life, but there's a somewhat ancient feeling to my naiad shifts, as if the water I feel is much older than it actually is, like in old Roman fountains or hidden jungle marshes. I have a strong feeling that I will be a wolf in my next life, and that I was given this human life first so that I could explore as much as possible and maybe remember some of it when I start my "real" life as a wolf.

I identify as a black coyote and a egyptian vulture. I belive the coyote is a past life, from meditiation, dreams and such i have seen pieces of it, the coyote if spiritual and psychological.The egyptian vulture is a spiritual identity for sure which i have no explanation for. Being native American i think our culture, of being more connected to nature could have impacted me in some ways? Not sure but maybe

I've always had phantom shifts when I was very young (at least 2 years old I started feeling phantom tails and ears) and I knew what animal it was (either switching to a wolf or coyote) but I didn't know what therians were (since I was 2 years old). Me and other kids would play "house" or whatever it was called and I would always be the animal since I felt a tail behind me all the time (mostly). I figured out what therians were when I saw one on TikTok about 5-4 years ago. At the time I thought therians were just people who ran on all 4s and wore tails and stuff. But around 3-2 years ago I searched what it was and discovered that "hmm this seems like me because I've been having phantom shifts...". And now, I have 2 theriotypes, 1 otherkin type, and 1 polymorphkin type. (worm, zhenyuanlong (raptor species), winged fox, and polymorphkin)

I'm a year late but whatever I've been a therian since I was 10- tho Im not really sure this counts When I was ten I would usually do vocals and "forms" a wolf would do, because of that my cousins and sister would bully me and using wolf as an insult. For the longest time, I've hated myself for who I was and how I acted. I wanted to stop what I did but I couldn't. It was a part of me. It wasn't until 8th grade when I figured out what a therian was. I was so happy I wasn't the only one who thought that kind of way. I started becoming proud of who I am. I think my dog likes me more because of it too lol,,, I haven't met another therian in person just yet. Though Im not just a wolf anymore I'm a wolfdog, a raccoon, and question another. I often have these kind of "visions" or "flashbacks" I haven't told anyone yet // 5 years!!

Paw Lilly awtch :/ yeh all u can really do is trying to keep explaining. Perhaps telling that internally identifying as an animal mean you are a human that feels as if they are (more) an animal. Typically a therian is a human who act and feels animalistic rather than humanoid. You could being a therian compare to being a transgender too. Being trans is like a physical girl who feels as if they are a boy. The gender is “boy”. Being therian is like a physical human who feels as if they are an animal. Their theriotype is [insert species they identify as].

Thanks for asking! ♥ I rarely experience phantom shifts, but when I do (mostly in the water) , I usually "have" a fish tail and fins "mixed up" with hands and arms, which feels kinda strange. I also do experience mental shifts a lot. When mentally shifted, I start moving differently (I see my movements as if I am swimming - I move my hips from side to side, it feels like if I was moving my tail. I also don't think in words,I have an empty mind, but still do I use my brain, just not in the way humans do (it's kinda hard to explain). I also have one picture/vision in my mind, of me as a fish swimming in a river (I guess). The water isn't clear, with a shade of green put into it, there are a lot of stones. I visualize myself as a fish when I am in a bad condition (especially psychological), it makes me happy and calms me down.

Personally, I identify as Dragonkin because I believe that the soul of a dragon-like being from another dimension/world/time/whatever was turned into an angel/similar being when they died, probably due to the fact that they served God well when they were alive. They were then sent to our dimension as my guardian spirit. However, when they were bonded to me, some of their dragon attributes bled over.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out the dang edit thingie and wanted to add- I don't know if that explanation makes 100% sense in a wider scope, but it's what sprang to my mind when I was trying to figure out why I feel the way I do, and my intuition has never failed me before. due the odd amount of people with autism, ADD, ADHD and other neurodivergent experiences there is indeed a theory that therianthropy may be something neurodivergent. Or work in a simular way. This is one I find particulary interesting and hope that research may someday proof to some extenct.

being therian is an experience, an identity phenomen. How one feels. Not a religion, belief or spirituality. So in no way, can being a therian ever be forbidden by or interfere with any religion, belief or spirituality. unless the bible specificly says 'a human cannot feel animalistic/like it is an animal' I personally don't belief however. I've been raised as a christian and will fall back to certain acts, hopes and handlings in times of emergency/sadness etc but that' it.

Hmm... perhaps people identify as predatory animals that are often poached rather than farm animals has something to do with a 'natural order.' Cattle, for example, are prey animals. They expect to die in the jaws of a predator and must live with this fact. Wolves are apex predators that shouldn't die as prey, much less be hunted for sport by a creature that sees itself as a god. Perhaps their souls take revenge for disrupting the order of life.

great theory! a guess a counterargument I could provide is 'who says what is how it is all supposed to happen?'.. Who ever decided that cattle should be murdered and eaten by humans? Is that actually the correct thing to do? maybe they'd be the ones who would more likely take revenge for being tortured their entire life, traumatized, brutally murdered.. and being born and killed purely for the egoistic desire of human consumption? while wolfs being shot are often shot for ecologic control aka to prevent too much prey dying cuz they can't run from predators cuz of human villages blocking the way. etc etc. I see your perspective, but I also wonder if that still makes sense if you'd look at the other side of the coin?

@@PDTherian That makes sense. Another idea I had is that humans are closer to predators than to prey animals, though I don't know how much DNA we have in common with wolves versus cows. If I'm right, maybe that's why there are so many carnivorous therians. Of course, it could be that we evolved alongside wolves and are therefore more connected to canines in general. Or it could be random chance, like my therianthropy. I've rarely been around cats, I've never seen my kintype in person, and yet here I am.

Cuz we grow up surrounded by dogs, learned to love dogs (not so much with cattle) and wolves are all around us in stories, legends, books, movies,… But then again, we can’t really know and these are all very likeable and possible theories u’ve given!
