Yes, as told before: I'm 3 weeks (until mid july) GONE!
Why: I won't have a computer, editing software etc (I might have a small camera but no HQ video). I also got bad wifi so my responding might be off and slow.
I will be back soon, but until then...
I've been working days in a raw until 3am every day to be able to record, edit and shedule a few videos until the time I'm able to be back. By this you won't have to fully miss me. That's how much I love you guys! :3 I am willing to do extra work so I won't be gone for full weeks hha, cuz I wouldn't want you guys waiting so long!
Now meanwhile, while I'm enjoying (COUGH COUGH) my computerless weeks, you enjoy a video about THERIAN PACKS VERSUS REAL WOLF PACKS.
There has been a Lot of miconceptions, incorrect information etc around wolf packs until now.
Both wolf packs on their own, but also in relation to therian packs and how those work etc.
This is exactly why I decided to make a video on the topic.
I'll go over what real wolf packs actually are, what we (or the greater whole of human society) thinks they are, why we think/thought this and how this is related to therian packs. I'll tell what a therian pack is and what it isn't and some other handy topics of how wolf packs and therian packs can be or cannot be related.

Yes! Thanks so much for making this, it's exactly what I've been wanting to say for a while. We are not wolves, but we have "pack ranks". I feel like they help our packs work better, and mean decisions can be made much better. One of my friends just got moved up to Alpha, actually, and she's great at it. Some people can do that, and some can't. I don't think some people understand that therian packs *are not* wolf packs. They're literally just a group of therians, haha, as you've said. I could never handle the responsibility of being an alpha, it'd be too stressful for me :,) I think packs should always be based on mutual trust and respect, and no rank is worth less than the rest - we're all friends, and are there for each other, but again, there has to be somebody there that you can ask about things, and ones that can make the decisions, or otherwise it wouldn't really work. You're right, it is human nature. Again, congratulations on finding a pack! I'm really happy for you my dude :0

Peregrine Coywolf I'm so glad you said all of this! U make me very proud :) 100% agree. And thank u! Our alpha recently kinda had to take a break, to rethink some stuff. So we beta's (we're actually with 3), are currently in charge and it does weight heavy but I know it's only temporarily and I'll be there as much as they need me. I'm more of a care taker. Than a leader who makes decisions.. I make sure everyone is okay and things are organised and okay. Safe etc etc. I care and I take care. But I'm not the best at taking decisions as I never dare to make one (especially not at my own). I don't want to make mistakes there. So I'm glad the other beta's are there to do such things for me.

Wibble The Doggo haha it wouldn't be right to call every therian pack a bad pack or such. There are great ones out there! :D Just always be warry when first joining one I'd say. You never know. I use Premiere Pro CC 2018 (newest version, currently 12.0 I think?) from Adobe. It's a paid program and quiet expensive but definitely worth it! Normally Sony Vegas Studio (or something alike) is also a paid program but friends of mine could easily download it somewhere for free. Idk how or where but u could try it out!

wolfy the therian it's probably a blue frost fox one, a very dark one. Tho it can possible be a cross fox, as it has a few strange brown hairs. I will never know for sure, as weirdly coloured it is with white spots, grey stripes and some brown tipped hairs. It was bought on a local comic convention, sold by a local furfarmer who had a very small business (kind of more like a hobby) her tails are super long and high quality :)

If you think bout it, it would make sense for a therian pack to have ranks similar to those of a captive wolf pack, because the therians within the pack are not related to each other usually, similarly to a wolf pack that would have the alpha/beta system. Another thing is that wolf packs with the alpha beta system doesn't mean "alpha leads and wins all the fights" each rank is important, just different and it's a common misconception that an omega is a low ranking wolf.

mckenzie_ the_therian I get my tails at several places! :3 My first ever tail was a blue fox from a local christmas market. My second was an accident from aliexpress, my third came from a local comic convention from a local hobby-furfarmer. My fourth as well. My fifth was a gift from a friend and came from wish. My sixth was a test-tail from wish to test out quality difference between cheap and expensive tails but was enterily broken once I got it. I heavily recommand Etsy and local furfarmers from Europe or America (anything else, like china etc are NOT good, very cruel!) I recommand to check out local markets and comic conventions or simular events. I do NOT recommand aliexpress, wish or ebay and 80% of amazon tails. Why: they're from non-europe and non-america furfarms. Usually China. They do not have Any rules around how the foxes have to be cared for which result in a lot of cruelty and pain (dead by drowning or poison or sticks on the head or skinned alive etc) I got only 2 tails from aliexpress and wish who were decent quality. Me and my fruend bought 5 or 6 tails from wish and aliexpress who were broken, ripped, rotting etc when arrived. Poor quality, small, off-coloured etc. Clearly cruel from animals who lived a horribe life.

The best thing I can advice you is to look at Local furfarmers. Usually they can be found on local markets or especially comic/anime conventions! Do a quick google search. Or look for local taxidermists (those sometimes buy from local furfarmers or go out to find roadkill etc, they often also have fox tails or others alike). Taxidermists are to be found on comic/anime conventions, by googling, sometimes on forums or a lot on facebook. In furry facebook groups, cosplay facebook groups, taxidermist facebook groups and 'vulture culture' facebook groups. Also ETSY is one of the best places to find fur. Look in the describtion of the 'product' or of the 'seller/shop' and you'll usually find the location where they're (europe, america etc). If not, you can email them and usually they respond really quick. I hope you were something with this info :)

I am in Australia :/ I can tan fur myself if I buy it off hunters. Maybe I will use one fox skin to make a tail. I will just have to dye it all myself

I'm sure you can also find some local taxidermist that can sell you a fox tail or so :) Or a seller on Etsy or a comic conventions. So you don't have to yourself. I also know that quiet a few hunters are also taxidermists or know some and they often sell 'ready to use' pelts like tails etc. You only have to add keychains yourself by example.

I just came across this video and i figured I’d share. I am alpha of a small pack at my school. We meet at recess every Friday and just chill. I have a beta that helps me make rules (no pushing anyone in the snow please. That was a disaster at the first meeting) and everything else that is important. She’ll help me send out emails and reminders. We tend to categorize pups as new therians who have just joined the pack. We assign members of the pack to teach them the rules. We chill, goof off, and just have a good time. We are all humans of course so we just use the pack ranks for the fun of it. When I approve that the person knows enough about therians and the wolf pack (normally a week) I raise them up to a warrior. We only have one beta and alpha cause our pack is so small. That’s how my pack (the Silvermoon Pack) operates.

PD sorry about my explanation. I’m not great at explaining. Most of my pack classifies themselves as animals, therefore a majority of us are therians. There are a few normal people who are not therians that joined the pack. We use the ranks just for fun.

Well, know that the only person who Needs to know who you are.. is you. I'd advice to think a bit: will my parents react positive? Will this bring me anything good? Will I gain anything by this? Will it make me happier or more free? What will I actually get by doing this? etc .. if you even only slightly think your parents might react negatively, please ask yourself if it's worth the risk of being 'bullied' by your parents about it, getting a punishment, being laughed with, getting in trouble, etc. Is it worth all of that? If not, I'd advice to not tell them as you probably will take away more than you'll give yourself. After all you can perfectly be a therian without telling anyone. You can get a collar or tail with the excuse 'it's cosplay' or 'it's for fun' or 'it's taxidermy / collecting fur' or 'it's to hang on my bag' or something. Or you can make any other kind of excuse really to get those things, you can tell your mom it's a roleplay game or even a nature walk if you ever want to go to a therian meet etc. You don't have to tell you're a therian, to do therian stuff :') if you think your parents will accept it and be fine with it, but only are afraid of your brother then I also advice to ask yourself if it's worth it to take the risk. If it is, but he reacts negatively afterwards. I highly recommend to stay calm and respectfull. If you sound rude, mad and 'insane', he'll take you as that.. insane. So please act calm, respectfull and patient, even if he is not. Explain what therianthropy is, that we don't actually think we're litterally animals, that we know we're human, that official research has been done that stated therianthropy does exist and is labeled as an identity rather than a mental illness and even is officially divided from mental illnesses like clinical lycanthropy (thinking one litterally is an animal, is an animal physically or can turn into one), and will even help psychiatries to prevent therians to be misdiagnosed as clinical lycanthropy. I hope this somehow helped?

I am supposedly a therian,i dont label myself as one,but i do indeed like to identify with different animals sometimes(recently I've been trying to practice learning how to jump) I dont have a specific animal I identify with because I like all animals,if I had to choose it would be wolf. There are too many wolf therians. It's just not realistic that so many people (usually kids who didnt do enough research) think that they are wolves. Just becuase it's a "cool" animal. I did go through this phase, like most therians, but got out of it quickly. So, do your research! Do LOTS of research. Study your behavior, wolf behavior and everything about them. If you still identify as a wolf, good for you! If you find out that you identify as another canine, or maybe even another animal, that's cool too!

It heavily depends on the pack. Personally I'd say: why not. After all. A 'pack' is just another word for a 'family'. In other words, a friend group. Just as your regular friend group at school. The only difference is that a 'pack' is usually used to define a group of therian friends instead of normal ones. Besides that however, I also know a lot of therians who feel as if any important friend, family member, pet,.. weither they're therian or not, belongs to their pack. This is for me the case as well. Many packs will allow a non-therian to enter as long as they mean well and have intentions to help or gather information or such. So not just to troll around and play pretend lets say. It however heavily depends on the pack, but it never hurts to ask! If you aren't a therian, but like the idea of having a pack or the structure or thought behind it. Then I'd advice you to look into 'teen werewolfs', also called 'teen wolfs'. Teen wolfs is a lifestyle, it's a way of behaving and acting. Dressing up, even liking certain music. It's very simular to emo or gothic, by example. Teen werewolfs are all about having the lifestyle of a wolf. This means dressing up in mainly black clothing, often together with chains and other typical emo and/or gothic like gear, having a collar or even a harnass, wearing a leash that just hangs there for show, spiked wrist bands, ears, tails, fangs, contact lenses. It's about forming a pack (group of teen werewolfs) and doing 'typical wolf things' such as gathering around a campfire at night to playfight and howl at the moon. So if you want to be part of a pack, or want to behave or look like a wolf, find the fashion style of collars and ears and tails cool, or something simular. Then teen werewolfs might be something for u!

I used to be in 2 packs, one I was a delta and the other didn't have ranks. In the one that did the ranks didn't influence how we interacted at all apart from in the roleplay chat but everyone was very nice. I left both the packs after around a month though because online packs aren't really my thing but unfortunately I live in Ireland which has no therians.

Oh, and this is a bit of a long topic that isn't very structured hha, so my apologies for that. It basicly just explains how wolf packs don't have the alpha/beta/omega structure like most think (they rather live in a family structure) but why therian packs then do often have thise structure (well, because we are human beings on top of 'animal people', we grep up in a system with bosses and workers, students and teachers, leaders and followers, it's human nature to create ranks) So just some extra information on that topic hha.

My pack has ranks even though we try to keep it as realistic as possible, it it kinda makes sense because 1 we don’t live in the wild (unfortunately) 2 None of us are related by blood See what I mean? (Disclaimer: in our pack we treat everyone with respect even if they are the omega. We went only use these roles while role playing. I’m the alpha because I’m the founder.)

I love Wolves and Coyotes watching this video is great I take my own wolf style life and smell sens of real human wolf and I watch my surrounding as wolf I feel Grawly and mad I bite some times one time to a bite out the nurse dentist finger and made big hole through the bone.I had weird Wolf Dream it was about Full Moon that was Red blood I called the Wolf Moon and gives real Wolves Strong life and I howled with Wolf pack of the wild they were like Family and PD I enjoyed watching this Therian pack video first time take care of yourself and the your Pack and all other Teen Wolf pack.

wolfy the therian well u can try explaining them the truth? But know that in some cases it's safer to keep ur parents in the unknown. You can still be u and they won't think you're crazy. My own parents are very accepting over and it's kinda like coming home from school and being like "and how did school go?" And then "and how does your therianthropy work again?" Haha. But I know other parents who send their kids to psychiatric hospitals over it :/

Hannah Bivins yeh like one person made the incorrect study. Then another person like 10 yrs later or so made the correct study, for a fun fact the original dude contributed to this as they probably realized their mistakes. Buuuut it wasn't interesting to media so movies, and even some informational documentaries, kept on using the ranking system xD cuz that sold better

hi! the community mainly lacks humor/fun content or DIY/tip content aswell as general shared experiences. Therian Territory is a recent well-promising channel who by example makes experience-orientated videos rather than 'what is X' content like I make most of the time. At the end, it depends on what You prefer to make! anything is really welcome, seen there are only very little active therianthropic youtubers to start with. just always be sure to know what you're talking about (aka do research) before you put it out on the internet! In my early days I've made a Lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings and I ended up having to private and delete nearly 100 videos due them simply miseducating therians.. because I acted like I knew what I was talking about but never Actually knew.

I get really nervous about getting on camera because I get stage fright really easily and it's been hard for me to make presentations so I'm going to be buying a software for video editing soon for my videos. @@TheFaerieWitch I actually have Horrible stage fright too, presentations, talking in front of class,.. I even feel anxious watching my own videos. But recording myself is.. different. You can redo sentences as often as needed to get it right, there is no one watching or judging you etc. It feels like talking to yourself. In the past I prepared by generally walkig around, talking to myself what I planned to say for the video, or looking at myself in the mirror and talking etc. there are a few free apps online for editing, tho I don't know any by name. Usually my mom would know if there was one because I would purposefully skip class on those days and walk around school instead of going to my class. I'm trying to overcome it though which is why I want to make a KZbin channel on what I found to be a fascinating community and want to be apart of it. I've known about it for about 2 years but I've had this account for about 6. I just never said anything and lurked around researching and trying to get more info. I'll definitely check it out since that's what I'm trying to do. I'm going to purchase the flimora9 software which is what I have been using. I get paid once a month because of my disability and I use it to get things I need for the month. Anyway, it is good getting to know you. I don't know how , but you make doing videos look easy so I wanted to try. I'll get more confident and sure of myself as I keep posting though, I'm sure.

I do! But not a lot. I personally don't like it a lot. I've known when animal jam play wild was even still in it's beta days too (Back then I paid over 11€ for things you now can buy for a few sapphires.. haha). But I personally just enjoy Animal Jam (itself) a lot more. I'm unsure if it is as I've been active on animal jam since 2010 (beta days) and I litterally grew up with it. So got attached to. Or I truely just dislike how tha play wild app works etc. It's just not as much fun to me.

This video will explain you very clear and simple what a therian is: WHAT is Therianthropy - remake kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJy7n4mchpekrsk My apologies that the video is a pretty old video, but the information still is correct. To also put it here shortly. A therian is someone who personally and integrally identifies as a non-human, earthen animal. (Example: dog, cat, eagle, whale, ant,..) on a non-physical level. Put more simple, a therian is someone who feels as if they are an animal while still knowing/recognizing they're physically fully human. Therianthropy is by recent studies, the few that has been, seen as an identity. Instead of a mental illness. As therianthropy itself does not influence ones life, the person they are or their feelings in any negative way possible. Therianthropy has a growing community around it and is my second if not even most important family :)
