You can tell Nathan works like this all day long. Total PRO. 👌 Beautiful to watch

I bought my R8 from a dealer here in the US and it was delivered with a leaking oil cooler. They basically told me to pound sand. In my opinion buying from a dealer vs private party has very little benefit if any, here in the states at least.

Great vid Andrew. Nathan certainly knows his stuff, was great to hear his tips. The correct washer jet fluid was interesting.

Glad you enjoyed it, and yes the wash fluid tip was very interesting had completely forgotten about that!

Thankyou Andrew for your latest clutch of vehicles, always nice to see a variety. Finally some decent weather has arrived in Northumberland and I've been able to bilt hamber the whole underside of my car including the wheel arch covers. Pesky things 😂. Knees are sore but so satisfying once done. Thankyou again for the inspiration. 👍👍

Great to see a knowledgeable professional like Nathan working, Andrew. I remembered when i bought my last new Audi that the salesperson told me about the correct washer fluid to use. Not sure if I could sit next to someone from the garage driving my vehicle though😉🙂

Great to see Nathan and of course Ed at APS, back in 2004 he transformed my import MK4 Golf GT TDI with remap , miltek and some rear valence action ready for gentle Nordschleife laps.

A very knowledgeable man, if a little arrogant. Then again, find someone else who knows what he does. Still a great video Andrew.

Top man Nathan. I remember him from way back when he was with AmD at Oddington then Bicester. Star in the making even then. Shame I don’t own a VW or Audi at the moment or I would use them.

We had a good chat about the good old days at Oddington

Yeah I remember when Geoff first started AmD in Thatcham then with Mike and later Nathan joined at Oddington. With Scott continuing it on in Bicester. Not sure what happened after that, it became a motorsport team?

Strictly speaking click bait has to be in the title or thumbnail to trick you into clicking on it. TBH we just found it funny that genuinely only broken bit was an Italian made Lambo part & though others might enjoy that irony 😄

There was a road in Belgium en route to the ‘ring which was described as ‘an unofficial suspension test facility’ and much like this but concrete. It’s not in great condition but it’s perfect for garages as easy to replicate faults. There is also a sunken manhole outside Birmingham Audi, perfect for demonstrating a knackered nearside mag ride shock 😄

Thanks! Who knows? No more being made now so might not be able to buy another cheaply if regret selling this one like I did my first one. Only negative is lack of storage space, it’s an amazing GT car aside from lack of luggage space which limits its usefulness

It’s fair to say you have massive VW Audi knowledge and you purchased using your expertise. However you could not cover all areas but generally you get a good idea if it’s beer cared for . Car looks really excellent for the age . I bet other viewers owner’s have horror stories.

Buying a car is always a mixture of luck and judgement Kevin. I didn't even lift the rear lid where the oil filler is when I viewed the car which was negligent of me. My first R8 was a good car but it had been first owned by Audi UK and this is rarely a good sign, then it moved to Scotland and was exposed to some very harsh conditions which rotted out one of the oil pipes when it was half the age of this one where they are still mint at 10 years old! It wasn't a bad car and was better when I'd finished with it but doubt it would have done as well as the current one in this kind of inspection.

Just goes to show where VW franchises lose out with not each one having an expert like Nathan here on call to speak to customers. Then again the ID milk float fleet they offer don't need it.
@volkswizard6 ай бұрын
A lot of garages depend on customers knowing nothing about cars so don’t need expert technicians as who is going to distinguish a good job from a bad one? Same with car dealers and especially body shops
@tonyjazz40736 ай бұрын
It's painful sometimes when you hear exasperated customers trying to get an explanation just being fobbed off with scripted nonsense.

Porsche is getting all funny about the drive belts because, starting with the 911, the belt is very exposed to the elements. There is no undertray in there (some have diffusers, I know), and the belt is only a few inches off the ground. I suppose on the mid engined cars not so much, but they carry over the same engineering/servicing standards.
@volkswizard6 ай бұрын
Makes sense. Actually the exposed engine and chassis in a 911 looks awful at 10 years old while r8 being sealed down there and mainly aluminium still looks fresh
