@@frankvazquez5974 for me, since I already had a BigSky and a TimeFactor, the HX Stomp is perfect. When I add a 2 button external switch, it basically becomes: Amp/cab/noise gate/tuner/compression/OD/amp drive/chorus/octave/tremolo I have a 3D printed button that adds a “4th tuner button” to the pedal. My entire rig essentially is 3 pedals and a volume pedal 😂

@@TheArbiterOfTruth I am in a eerily similar position to you (except Volante & Big Sky). Considering the Stomp (mostly for the new Princeton ”US Princess” model) but don’t fully understand from your post how you are using your switcher. 1. Which switcher? 2. What switch does what?
@TheArbiterOfTruth3 жыл бұрын
@@jemandthemystery I thought I replied, my apologies! So, you’ll want a Mosky dual switch. You can get it on Amazon for about $25 (the price fluctuates a few dollars up and down sometimes) and a TRS cable. You’ll plug that into the FS4/5 port on the back of the HX Stomp, you can then assign blocks to FS 4 and 5. The 3D printed button you’ll have to search online, but you should find the file to print it.

It's the exact same sounds, we know that so there is no point A/B'ing identical tones. They are mostly showing the differences in functionality between the two units. It makes more sense for them to use different guitars, really, as you get an idea of what the amps sound like with different pickups, so they cover a little more ground that way.

I don't get people freaking out about the two different guitars. This video is very useful to demo how the two different units work side by side and is extremely useful. The units have the same sound , guitars don't matter.
@mikeriesco61746 жыл бұрын
Good intentions, but really...we all know that if the insides are identical (circuit designs, algorithms, etc), then of course the sounds will be identical. That is a given, no need to "prove" it to us -- which, of course, you didn't, given the 2 different guitars and players...why didn't you use 1 guitar & player, with a signal splitter box feeding both units? At any rate, what would have been useful is to see the actual Differences (e.g. the Stomp's fewer fx loops, lack of XLR, only 6 blocks can be used, etc), and show us how those limitations operationally limit what it does, compared with the Helix.
@samuelguymer43585 жыл бұрын
No. A change in form factor can greatly effect sound quality as the topology of a circuit will change. The physical layout of the product and circuits will effect cross talk distortion , intermodular distortion, total harmonic distortion and noise floor. So regardless being the same dsp and software they could sound different.

I would love to see you demonstrate HX Stomp in a song. We all know that HX Stomp sounds just like Helix and it sounds great. We all know it’s easy to use. But the video that’s missing right now is showing how much can still be done in a real musical context. What is it like switching banks and snapshots from song to song? Would love a practical application video with songs and context, because you guys are great demonstrators and players

Yeah, hopefully someone takes on that approach soon. I think that most people are looking at HX Stomp thinking "oh that's cool, but how can I really get away with only 3 stomp switches and maybe an expression pedal?"... Someone should address those concerns. It'd be even better if Line 6 got a ton of famous guitarists to play 2-3 songs each like they're doing their normal live show, with all of their sounds and effects dialed in. Perhaps even break down their patches, how they use the unit, and if they needed to incorporate external gear to get their normal sounds.
