I watched your 5L review and thought I saw a Union station indoor shot. Now that I'm watching this video, I now know for sure! Very cool to find a KZbin creator from DC!

I just got this bag. And I love mine. I agree that the shoulder strap could be a bit more robust, it's not a deal breaker. As for the strap, I hope it's doesn't wear our first. The 5l is too small for me and felt the 10l was a good balance. It's a perfect third bag with the bags I already have.

Thank you, I was thinking of buying one of these second hand, but won’t now as a thin strap without padding is a no-go for me.

Peakdesign is great, definitely considering the everyday backpack, but the sling would be nice if i didn't have a messenger already, super informative review!

the 5L size works great for my E-M5 MkII with the top half of the battery grip and the 12-40 f/2.8 on it, with one divider and another similar sized lens. I can stuff the battery grip bit in one of the end pockets, and my iPad Mini fits in the tablet sleeve part.

Ah yes, that 1cm height difference truly made this an unwieldy monster.

Good honest review. Thanks for re-uploading it. I’m torn between this and the 5L. I only need to carry a Mavic Air and Osmo Mobile 2 but Peak Design tell me id need the larger one. Think I prefer the smaller bag tho

I have a Smooth Q and it doesn’t fit in the 5L. You might be better off with a backpack considering all the accessories for the Mavic Air.

I am with you on not wanting to carry laptop in the same bag. My preference would be to carry two bags. One sling for cameras and another bag pack for laptop and other travel stuff. Do you know of any other good options? My gear would be a7 (iii or riii), Nikon 105mm 2.5 + adapter (overall getting close to 11cm length and 6.5cm diameter), Zeiss 35-70 3.4 + adapter (same as previous dimensions) and Zeiss 28mm 2.8 (5cm length and 6.5cm diameter). Would the 5l fit them all?

I think there are plenty of auxiliary shoulder strap pads out there to fix your issue with the shoulder strap being too thin. Most are less than $20 and easily attach to this strap (or any other bag really).

I have Domke, Billingham and Tenba shoulder pads and they only work on 1.5” straps. The wide fixed pad on this bag doesn’t allow for pads-except for ones made for seat belts. If PD makes the pad 133% thicker it would make a world of difference.

I just picked this bag up today, I'll post back if I find any pads that will work. There are lots on Amazon that are intended for guitar straps that should work well.

So I guess maybe you already answered my question in the video, but probably not a good idea to buy this if I am gonna walk for about 8 hours a day? I travel about 7-9 weeks a year & I walk a lot. I have 1 APSC camera, and 3 "regular size" lenses I travel with. For example the Sigma Trio for APSC Sony E mount. No Laptop, no tablets. Just a phone.

Man, I really wish the 5L could hold my iPad Pro + Smart Keyboard, because I like everything else about it. Traveling to Japan and I think I'm going to go with the 10L, but thanks so much for reviewing both and helping me make a decision.

Hi, my Peak Design 10L sling able to stand by its own and it is good since things won’t fall out easily but my bag has some problem so get quite a few replacement until I can get one that’s good sewn(still has a bit deep scratch mark but at least no other problem, really bad quality control) but I just discovered it can’t stand by its own no matter how I put it, it keep fall down, maybe the bottom part sewn too curved up. How’s your experiences?

Would you say it's possible to fit at Sony a7 III + Tamron 28-75 mm lense, MacBook Air 13" and Sony 70-200 mm lense in the sling 10L?

Peak design is a terrible at perfecting FUNCTIONAL DESIGN. There is no excuse for a tippy, ill balanced bag that falls away from you with hip carry. The bag only carries well with cross body carry on back. It DOES NOT WORK as a “shoulder bag”. Ditto to the strap. It sucks. The patented quick release strap on this bag is cheap and doesn’t work easily under load. It is not as good as Slide Lite and their better accessory straps .The secondary pockets are too tight to carry anything large. If you try to squeeze a hefty prime into these stretch pockets (which PD claims expand) the zipper won’t close. If you set the bag down it rolls over-not good. Peak Design products look great in photographs, no doubt. I would love to use a Peak Design employee as a Sherpa to carry my gear for a day in their products and see how they feel-then put the same gear in an optimized Think Tank on LOWEPRO, or Hadley and let them see the difference. That said, I might actually buy this bag for specifically a 5DMk3 with attached 28-300L attached and nothing else. The carry with cross back position is pretty good. If I can figure out how to tweak the shoulder pad I might go for it. Thanks for not being a complete Peak Design pimp.

do you prefer using the 5L or the 10L
@MrParticular
@MrParticular 6 жыл бұрын
The 5L because I only have one camera, one lens, and my tripod/head are too massive to be attached to the 10L. If I carried a 13” laptop everyday I’d go with the 10L.
