The Colossus that is Dean Read has returned! May we all bask in his glorious productions and educate ourselves with his wise words 😁 Seriously though, since I started walking/hiking/exploring Dean has been an invaluable guide, tutor and source of information which has seen me through many a school holiday with my son in addition to my solo walks and more recently impressing my girlfriend with 'my' Peak District knowledge 😉 Thank you very much Dean and I'm sure I'm not the only one that's glad to see you back out with the camera(s).

Totally agree, I got to know the Peaks in the 1990’s, then life and work got in the way. I stumbled across Dean on KZbin in 2016 and his enthusiasm, and quality videos fired me up to get back out there. I haven’t looked back since and love every minute we have spent in the Peaks. He should have his own TV program. I was horrified when watching a Julia Bradbury program on Kinder when she said Kinder was 636 FEET high. Dean would’ve know that information was wrong and had a host of other local knowledge to share 😀👍

Lovely to see. We cycled to the three shires head on a monday in the summer and it was fairly quiet. We set off from tideswell and went via the monsal trail, chee dale, king sterndale, crowdecote, longnor, flash. Returned back via Wincle and the roaches, alas the ice cream at Blaze Farm was closed. Love this area and a real tonic in these strange times.

Nice video Dean. I note you mentioned Scottish standard midges at three shires. I did a cheeky stealth hammock camp in the woods near Luds Church at mid summer and the midges were absolutely ferrocious then. Had to resort to a headnet and even that didn't seem to stop them! Aside from midges it's a very nice area around there in summer.

Another great video Dan, I was on “The Roaches” last year, started up the steps past the cabin and had no choice but to carry on, didn’t realise how steep they are and with my mobility problems is was safer to struggle upwards than try and go back down, didn’t help the fact I had my Photo backpack on too. Have you ever stayed in that or similar cabins? P.S. they had the banner there last year but idiots will still have bbqs and leave glass bottles around.

I think you need to change your job again Dean and get some free time in the week because those crowds look like The Arndale Centre before Xmas! I recently went on a busman's holiday from here in North Wales to do Mam Tor and the Great Ridge and I'd never seen crowds like it! .It was heaving and wasn't even a weekend or holiday period! Someone who lives in the Peaks mentioned a few days later that he's never seen so many people before on the Great Ridge so it must be a Covid thing. People not going abroad anymore and spending their time in the Peaks, Lake District and Snowdonia. Nice to see you back though.
