Am I the only one that misses the saiyan tails? It made them distinct and recognizable and was a key aspect since OG dragonball. That’s why super saiyan 4 remains my favorite db transformation along side the original. And the design in this show looks sooo PRIMAL and Epic Yeah it’s a weak spot but most saiyan can over come it with training. This fan film was 👌🏾 full props to the team and designers.

Thats one of the main reasons why DBZ is so shit. They never fully explore ideas they introduce. Most times they just mention or show something once and its never seen again. Like goku having telekinesis and telepathy but never uses them, or different alien races with techniques that were never fully developed.

This fan animation re-ignited something in me I haven't actually felt about Dragon Ball in a LONG time. When Goku went Super Wu-Kong I lost my shit. Vegeta was in PEAK form during this too. If the series was animated like this from now on I would be in HEAVEN!!! THIS NEEDS to be new canon.

Funny they changed the Super Saiyan form to avoid copyright, and then made into something super close to Goku's roots in Chinese literature. Having Goku to transform into the famous Monkey King is clever.

Dragon ball kakumei is a fan manga with extra cool art style. They also have Vegeta as the main character. And it doesn’t undermine goku in any way more so just overdevelopes Vegeta and the rest of the cast including the side charactedrs like hogan piccolo androids and even Yamcha has some cool moments so far. You should check it out whenever you get some free time. It is currently at 10 chapter. Chapter 11 will come out august 25. With monthly release continuing after.

I was honestly skimming through the fights as they came out to get the story but as usual there is none, Vegeta gets molly whopped and even has an entire new form based on that, and after all of it nothing, nothing changes, an entire multiverse of characters and everything stays the same with stupid super Goku. By 2025, I feel like they're gonna run out of ideas and give the main series the super heroes treatment.

Hands down my favorite thing out of this animation was Vegeta's Ki Saber, of course it's not that new, Vegito and Zamasu/Black/Merged Zamasu (and technically Future Trunks) have all used Ki Swords before, but I think Vegeta's Saber here is a neat concept in the fact that he has to sacrifice his Super Saiyan form to manifest a hyper-concentrated physical weapon that is more effective than just a Super Saiyan beat down because, again, it's all concentrated to a smaller area making it, in theory, much more lethal. He basically has to choose irl when it's better to be well rounded and when to convert into a somewhat longer ranged glass cannon because I would assume doing that forces his body to lose the extra power (and by extension defensive properties) of the form in exchange for the concentrated potency and literal edge as a physical tool.

This is one of the best fan made animations I've seen to date -- for Dragon Ball or otherwise. Great animation and voice acting, a lot of nice easter eggs and references, and Goku's "Savior of Heaven" form is a brilliant nod to Journey to the West. A real shame KOL spent nearly the entire video trolling it. But regardless, if this is what Naseer and Stray Dog could produce with zero budget (and 4 years of work), I'd love to see what they could do with some backing.
