I’m currently working on a similar project. I started by cutting Christmas scraps not 60 degree triangles. Then I made stings blocks cut into the same 60 degree triangles. The plan is to alternate them in rows and flipping very other row to create diamonds. I plan to use one skinny border of a print or solid then a border of scrappy piano keys and perhaps one more border. All this came from three gallon size bags of scraps I thrifted. Another winner, Suze! Wizard! Two alternative ideas for the pieced triangles: you could make strip sets and cut the pieced triangles from them. OR you could paper piece the pieced triangles. It’s cool we have different ways to make the units depending on our preferences, our experience level, and our scrap bins! Thanks for all you do!

I thought about making triangles out of strip sets, but I wanted all my triangles to feature different fabrics. I also love that there are so many different ways to get the same result!

Hi! Another scrappy triangle quilt❤ I’m still working on your Trippy Triangle pattern. I love it..BUT find I must go SLOW to get those triangles right. You used a 5” square, I wish I’d thought to used 5 1/2 or 6” and then trim. I’m a pretty good ant sewing and find there is very little room to get those seams just right! Just a suggestion for anyone who wants to go back and check this one out. Jenny at Missouri Star just did the same thing, created a quilt pattern from a rug😂(KH)

What did you do for the binding and backing--always like to see the finished quilt :)! What quilt pattern did you use--always like to see what design/pattern is used? What creativity in using ideas from other objects (e.g., floor rugs etc)--who knew?

I haven't done the backing/binding yet on this one. Most of my creations are my own designs, so I'm not one to follow others' patterns. I purposely don't usually show the backing, binding or quilting with my quilts simply because it's a personal taste thing. (Also because I have a closet full of quilt tops that I haven't gotten that far on.) Thanks for watching.

I could have, but I wanted all my triangles to have different fabrics since I have so many scraps. In making strip-sets, there would be many repeats.
