@13:35 you clip into the wall of the tower, or otherwise do some collision shenanigans that push you WAY far away at high speed. As floating point numbers get bigger, the precision gets worse, causing small errors in the position of your character to "round up", creating the vibration/shaky appearance. The distortions continue to grow stronger as time passes because you have either sunk into the ground (likely, based on looking "up" toward the dot that is probably the map), continuing to travel away from Jo (and the origin) via gravity, or because your initial velocity was simply so high that you ended up deep in floating point space. This is ~the same reason~ (thanks for the correction) similar to why, for example, Minecraft's terrain generation breaks down when you travel REALLY far away from (0,0). Big floats do strange things.

Minecraft never used floats for terrain generation that caused something like the farlands, it used ints. Float imprecision is why as you approach the farlands, you would sometimes sink into the floor, items would appear far from when you dropped them, and entities would shift around on their own from time to time.

Float imprecision is just due to how the mantissa works: your "resolution" between float values decreases as you go further out from 0. The Farlands as OP is describing is due to overflow of an integer.

But jittery character models do occur in a number of games where you can glitch yourself really far from the map origin. Thanks for the correction
