I don't mind the modern engines in a classic. But then it's also just no more original and not driving like an original. So it is a blade with 2 sides. It simply becomes a modern car with a classic body. Sometimes I did see body swaps. So the modern engine was still in the modern car but the body was from a classic (so body-swap, not engines-wap which is also really a lot of work to get it done properly - but then the interior is also still the modern car). Hyundai Accent - I haven't seen them for a long time. And this has been a pretty popular model back then. And I also just thought it's called Pony, hehe. I like the MGB GT in the usual colour. Very nice looking car and I like the Rostyle wheels on it as well. Beautiful car. The Jaguar Mark X is such a huge car - it has as much style as a Rolls-Royce if not even more. The green old Land Rover is also very lovely. Oh and the Rover SD1 ... haven't seen one of these cool cars for a long time. Cute little red Nissan Micra. A classmate had one of them in white. Was actually a cool little car. Loving the Audi Quattro (although I am not fully sure if it's a quattro due to the 4 hubnuts - always believed the real Quattro had 5 hubnuts per wheel). The Chevy pickup is really cool in this barnfind look. Seat Panda - really an old original one. In Germany I can remember they started with the Marbella after VW purchased the company. Very nice part of the show! Tomorrow I'll go once again to the Classics & Coffee to Stuttgart. Although they've their last meet in a week but I've no idea how the weather will be. So I better take the chance when the weather is alright. And then there's maybe one more meet and then it's done - season 2024 is ending soon.

For interest Sven -the MGB GT is in a colour called Bracken. Can't say i have ever been a big fan of the Mk10 but each to his own it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

Hi Sven - good luck with the weather - hope you have a good show. Yes, sadly the 2024 season is nearly over - I feel we've done a lot in a way and then not nearly enough as well! Bit worried that by February I may not have anything to post on the channel!! But maybe a museum trip.....we'll come up with something. I will definitely go back to this Renishaw Hall in 2025 - I really liked the feel of it as well as the cars themselves. Cheers, Mike

@@TipTopMotors. So true Glyn ... it would be boring if everyone likes the same cars the same much. Then we all would only see one model and that's boring.

@@OldCarsNewVan Last Sunday was great weather. There weren't so many cars as usual at the Classics & Coffee because there were a few smaller classic car meets around - I didn't know about some or a few were just sounding too small for my flavour. But I've got to see great stuff on Sunday, even a super rare Renault Frégate Domaine that I've never seen before. Two more classic car meets ahead ... still the forecast for the season ending at the Mercedes-Benz Museum this Sunday is still looking very nice with sunshine. Next week is the big one in Bietigheim again - then the season is over. But like you're saying ... when running out of content then a museum can also be nice content. I am currently editing the Technik Museum where I've been a week ago with the scifi meeting - showing both - so the museum and the scifi cosplays. But I will perhabs also take a few days of a break before starting uploading something. I am not in the big pressure to get everything done quickly like in last year when the weather was too fine and I've been everywhere and had too much of content, hehe. That was also very stressful.

Nice job on the Frogeye sprite, good attention to under bonnet area nicely painted. I see no problem with resto mod why not have a car that's more reliable and drivable but still has the character. Quite right to not be ashamed in admitting you don't know something. Nobody can know everything and if they say they do their lying. I have always worked on the principal never be afraid to ask questions life is a continual learning process. Nice white e type-looks right in that colour. Nice early P6. Nice interior and colour. Every time i open the jags door i get that smell of leather. Another nice stroll around and again lot of nice interesting cars.

Some interesting info from another viewer about the Frogeye and Keith Brading's 80s builds - never knew - like you say, every day is a school day.I really liked the setting with the cars parked on the grass and under the trees - will be going next year. I like the idea of a resto mod one day. Cheers, Mike

That particular Frogeye isn’t an original 50s car; it’s one of the ones developed (with the approval of the Healey family) in the late 80s by Keith Brading with production taking place into the 90s on the Isle of Wight. It’s a separate chassis with glass-fibre bodywork and was available initially with the A series engine similar to the original, then a few SuperSprites were built with the Rover K series engine as seen here in Paul’s 1998 example. As far as original cars with different engines/gearboxes, I don’t have a problem when it’s a car like a Sprite/Midget where so many of them were built and engine swaps were common in-period - Jack Brabham would convert a new car for you with a Coventry Climax engine as seen in the Lotus Elite of the day, with twice the power of the 948 A series, then in the 70s, you could buy an Atlantis Midget with a 1600 Ford X-flow engine and gearbox. I personally have a 1965 Midget with a Rover K series engine and a 5 speed gearbox which shares a garage with my standard 1974 Midget.

That's fantastic info - thanks - didn't know about the 80s Keith Brading Frogeye. I'm a fan of engine swaps and or modifications - not that I've done one or owned one but I like the idea, Thanks again for sharing and watching. Cheers, Mike

Interesting and good to know the background. I was aware of the new Healy's in the 90's but not the Frogeyes.
