EICMA 2023: Macbor 4K
This is my video from the Macbor stand at the EICMA 2023 show in Milan, Italy in November 2023.
It's not a brand I'd heard of before, but I understand they are based in Barcelona. They had a few different models and this X500, probably a prototype, behind a rope.
If anyone has one, I'd be interested to know more about them and the brand.

the Macbor 510 is made by Kove and available in a fair few countries, the previous 500 was/is available in the UK as a Lexmoto Pioneer 500

Macbor is for Portugal and Spain, they have different branding arround the world, it was the first bikes from Kove before Kove was Kove, they been around for a while with the XR5 and other models, that XR510 it's a new engine with different colors, didn't understand if the dash was different, but it looks like. That racing version it's from a Spanish rider ex Dakar Gerard Farrés brand ambassador, very good rider with good results even competting with Pol Tarres and Antoine Meo on the DesertX, he was 3th in the Bassella Race.

Do you know guys, if its better to buy on of olders without tft screen wich is very cheap nowadays, or better to wait for the new one??? Has it many upgades compare to the old one, or its just the screen?... The rest looks to be the same🤔

@@polmarticasals I think the new engine its better from what I heard from other bike's that have the old engine and now the new, from the Macbor didn't see any review with the new engine. Yes the rest looks the same

The trend towards fitting tubeless cross-spoked wheels even on smaller budget bikes like these is a great step forward.

not a big brand in spain but they seem to be pretty solid, been talking about the 502X which i assume is being replaced by the 510 you showed, Taiwanese brand thats been around a long time, but im not sure who actually does the manufacturing to be honest, At one point i was told Kove were making them but i dont think thats right. priced similar to the Bennelli over here, but no UK distributer so far, and hard to find out many details, but the Spannish tend to replace their bikes less than we do in the UK and the dealer that i spoke to preferred them to the Bennelli he also sold sorry i dont know much else, but been contemplating one for while im over in spain as a do it all bike

@@metalsadman cheers, that makes sense i guess, do they manufacture all the Macbor bikes or just the 500X? have to say, the new one looks bulky compared to the 502 version, and as i often say on my channel, thanks, if we could amass all the knowledge of all the subs we would have the best motorcycle encyclopedia ever 🙂

Them two 500cc bikes are/were sold in Lithuania and some other countries as Jawa. But I seen them for sale as different brands as well.

it's a Kove rebranded in some parts of the world, bristol/brixx venturi is what's called where i am.

Definitely not a bike in Australia, we don’t get a lot of the smaller manufacturers over here , but we do get AJP, SWM , and obviously CF Moto , we will be getting the Kovo over here soon , I know you have one ☝️.

The motor in the 500cc models looks awfully similar to the Honda 471cc unit. It doesn't seem to be the exact same tho. It has slight differences in the block castings, compared to the honda. That let's me think it's probably a clone. Edit: Interestingly enough the 500cc engine in the "8 Mile Scrambler" seems to have even less differences to the Honda motor (why would they make two different 500cc motors tho?), but even that one has slight differences to the Honda, mainly in the head. 2nd Edit: Further research shows that the "500cc" motor from Macbor is basically exactly the 471cc Honda motor. It has the same bore x stroke, same power at same rpm and so on. I wonder however, if they have cloned it or if they are building it with a license. The "510" models seem to be slightly different, but there is no information on their website or anywhere.

Thanks for the research. My guess is you’re right, and even if not a clone or made under licence, perhaps they buy engine components from the same Honda suppliers (do Honda make their own pistons etc.?). That would be one way to keep costs down.

Base is the same, Kove did an improvement in the head area, different cams, ecu and gear ratios.
