Pretty sure John wasnt originally supposed to die. But at the time, he was also being hired for a bunch of other big roles so had to be written out, such as Gangs of London

Ugh I was so upset when John died he was one of my favs! But he did kinda make his bed unfortunately. He started everything when he cut changretta for walking around with Lizzy 😣 I love the whole series but I definitely missed watching the whole family together in the later seasons 😭

Even when Michael said “ITS THE MAFIA” he replies with “WE’RE THE PEAKY BLINDERS” which is why my point still stands he is/was careless. Not just in this scenario but the entire show

Best season for me i know its a loss but if anyone deserved to go it was john....he caused it by being awful to the old Italian...hes put his and the rest of the family in danger .... I agree completely. The only thing that frustrated me over this show was how all the blame for anything bad is always put on Tommy. The family benefits from his schemes, but the bad is always dumped on him

I love this season! I was gutted over John because it showed that no one was safe. It's a sort of poetic justice that John was taken out since his temper is what started this.

Wow shocking/heartbreaking seeing the emotional toll it's taken on the Shelby family after their experiences in jail & the fallout from Tommy's decision & now we've found out who he made a deal with & just goes to show that all the money in the world don't solve every problem, very intense episode now they've all been dealt the 'black hand' that scene of Tommy covered in blood & what happened to John shows that we are in for much darker turn this season! 😮

John wanted to leave the show because he said that the show belongs to Cillian Murphy. But it was supposed to be Michael who got murdered and later on John was supposed to be trade Tommy but they switched it up because John didn't want to be in the show no more, and now he's in a show called gangs in London.

It took a while, but in the end John reaped the rewards of his impulsive conduct when meeting with Papa Sabini in Tommy's absence, and his assault on Sabini's son. But his biggest mistake may have been in having some compassion for Sabini's wife and letting her live, again ignoring Tommy's instructions.

Lots of people gushing for season four as their favorite. It is the high-end point for the criminal family story , but there are a lot of us who get even more drawn in with the political world we seen in the last two seasons. Sure, the mafia are the most serious adversary yet, but they are nothing compared to the dangers Tommy faces in season five and six.Every time Tommy thinks he’s getting out of one jam he finds he’s got into a worse one. The stakes just get higher and higher.

Once again... remember that Lizzie is responsible for EVERYTHING. The actor playing John chose to leave the show because it was " Cillian's show" and he wanted to do something else. Tommy was not responsible for the hanging....they all took the King's shilling.
