You should watch The Notebook Quinn cause honestly I'm the exact opposite. I think of him as a drama guy so when he does comedy like Barbie for example it really through me off. I think some of us just always have that first big role moment of any actor stuck in their brain & I agree its really hard to get that image replaced.❤💞❤️

The opening number is so interesting to me, cause the way I interpret it... We're getting a glimpse of everyone on the highway's inner monologue, none of it's really happening. It's like they're all driving aimlessly towards one goal, each person thinking they're special from the next. But they're all stuck in traffic and it's taking them forever to get to their destination.

I remember seeing this movie in theaters with a group from school, including our teacher who ran the group. I bawled through the entire ending, during credits, walking out to the car, and even when sitting alone in my car before I went home. I love this movie; I still find it difficult to listen to the final song without bursting into tears. It is naturally sad as they don't end up together, but what hurts the most is the reality of it. La La Land of course reflects the idea of L.A., where people go to pursue nonsensical dreams, as Mia and Seb do. However, it's the idea that even when this 'La La Land' of perfectness comes true, there are still drawbacks. Even if dreams become reality, things are lost in the process. They pursue their dreams, but at what cost? I like to see the final scenes as the true and fully realized 'La La Land': a life where they are in love and together, while also having their dreams come true. It shows that perhaps, in the end, their 'La La Land'/dreams didn't really come true. They got their dream, but not truly. It's a testimony of life. You may have everything you ever dreamed of, but one's 'La La Land' is true only that: a 'La La Land'.

the score for this film is just incredible. I could listen to the epilogue track over and over. I just love the story because it presents as a classic Hollywood cliche love story but with a painful realistic conclusion. they love each other and each needed the other to get to where they were, even though it meant the end for them. he wouldn’t have Seb’s if it weren’t for her pushing him and inspiring him and she would never have auditioned for her breakout role if he hadn’t gone to get her. they needed each other to grow individually, even if it wasn’t together. such a painful and poignant message

I can't imagine anyone but Ryan Gosling in this role, primarily because the chemistry between him and Emma Stone is just fire. The movie focuses so much on their relationship developing that I think making their dynamic believable and something we want to root for (despite Seb bordering on being kinda an a$$ at times) is integral to the success of the story. See Crazy Stupid Love for further proof.
