I am 71. I grew up loving drawing, painting, clay, any kind of artwork. My granddaughter now lives for art. It was in her, not pushed on her. I learned that I shouldn't have let the cost of supplies deter me. Save your money, work to buy the better, not the cheapest. Be creative. Make your tools. You will see the difference and it will make you better. It is difficult now for me to paint, create, weave, whatever because of arthritis. Do what you can while young; get teaching, experience and experiment now. You won't regret it later. You will get better and better. The artist we are watching is great because she knows the importance of her materials.

If you can shell it out, I bought a 12 pack of Sonnet watercolours for about $16 and my go-to sketchbook is a Canson Mixed Media 98 lbs for around $7!! They both do pretty well!! Its hard being a student artist with no money but there's still some gems out there ^^
@trishakhat17034 жыл бұрын
@Carne Guisada I agree. Although I will say that if you're trying to use watercolors on something like printer paper then then result will probably be tragic most of the time lol :> there's a breaking point where the materials you're using will only hurt you instead of helping you improve
@trishakhat17034 жыл бұрын
That's why I actually started doing art with only pencil and paper. I shyed away from new art when I was using cheap stuff so I only started painting with watercolors when I turned 18, even tho I've been regularly drawing since 8. I know it would sound counterintuitive to switch art mediums if you want to get better at watercolors, but if you're materials are fighting you so much then maybe switch to more readily available materials that won't cost too much for you personally. A set of different soft/hard graphite pencils take to printer paper pretty good if you ask me lmao 😁 These are just thoughts, I would hate for anyone to dump art all together bc of money

(After watching that, I was actually inspired to bind my own watercolor sketchbook!) I really enjoy the way you film, the angles, the coloring, and the background music. I love how you layer the music with your own voice-overs with the sound of paper crinkling and pencils scratching against the paper. All of these components together make for a great viewer experience 🙂. Anyways, I'm rambling. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your content. I'll often throw on your videos when I'm drawing/painting or even when I'm experiencing an art block. Thank you for continuing to share your work. 🤗

Thank you for sharing another lovely stationary haul video. Maybe some of the viewers are like me, went to this London based stationary website for a treasure hunt after seeing pearfleur's first few videos regards ChoosingKeeping. But to be frank, when I received my package from ChoosingKeeping, my huge excitement turns to a disappointment. Didn't feel too much care and attention through the packaging and the handwriting on the postcard, not to mention the unsatisfied quality of their composition ledgers that cost 30+ Euro. Instead of using their signature bird stickers onto the wrapping paper, the staff substituted some of the birds with sticky tape that makes it hard to reuse the wrapping paper. And for the handwriting on the card, I mean come on, I could even do a better job. I could understand that ChoosingKeeping put extra effort into pearfleur's order since she's their longterm customer and a KZbinr. But I didn't expect my order would be that disappointed.
