@@KillerDrumsTV Did you add any muffling to the kick batter side? I do see the felt strip on the reso head.
@KillerDrumsTV Жыл бұрын
Yes correct! A felt strip only, it came with the kit, so we used it. But normally nothing inside and no dampening, ala-natural.

Wow this sounds amazing, I have looked at a lot of the new President series and the shells sound so much better than the lean

I was not expecting to like the sound of these at all, but actually very impressed. You guys have done a great job tuning recording and demo-ing. I also enjoy your conversations and drum knowledge. Those lugs are horrible though!
@iamjackiebarnes3 жыл бұрын
Glad u dig them and what we are doing! I was genuinely surprised at how good these sound. So good! And I personally love the lugs ha-ha but it's all down to personal taste. All the best!

Glad you enjoyed it! We try to let the boxed drums speak as they were sent, and tune simply for live, not really recording. I'm trying to capture they natural "genuine" sound by avoiding special tuning, post production tricks and all that stuff. We're wanting to give drummers a real true representation of a drums sound.

I like it, I would never get it as primary kit but as back-up is awesome.

Its tone was actually surprising.

Great showcase of these drums. Did you have the sound dampers engaged? They had a nice sustain to them , just wondering if those were recorded wide open.
@KillerDrumsTV Жыл бұрын
Hey Eric, the dampeners were off and yes we tuned them wide open.

Does the bass drum "crawl" at all? Or, does it stay in place if you were playing in a rock band?
@KillerDrumsTV Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I'm a rock player, it has spikes, and stayed I place for me.

Amazing pearl makes nice stuff to bad about cymbal bracket they should have made memory lock shaped around bracket to help sturdy it some
@birdtracs18633 жыл бұрын
I have one of these. It does indeed have a memory lock notch. Very sturdy.

I was very dissapointed about this drumkit, and so I sold it after two months. With the snaredrum was something wrong. Coulden't hold it in in tune wich I never had before with other snare's. The phenolic material make this shells sound plastic and very limited in tuning range IMO.
@KillerDrumsTV Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. I actually loved the tone we got when we captured it. Did you change heads to something else? When we filmed this kit, we also have another three kits side by side and it sounded anything but plastic. It actually sounded more warm than another very popular kit known for being warm. Also how did you tune your kit? I have phenolic, acrylic, maple and mahogany un drilled shells here on the same size that I've used for sound testing and the acrylic certainly sounds plastic. But the phenolic is a warm dark tone between maple and mahogany in the samples here. What kit did you move to? Tony
