I have to admit the Rogers are the overall best sounding drums out there. I my opinion, I should add
@KillerDrumsTV Жыл бұрын
I've owned many Rogers in my time. My favourite was a 70's script 24, 12,13,14,16,18 kit that I stripped off the unrepeatable wrap, stained black and powder coated all the chrome satin black. It was the best sounding kit I had at the time. A guy heard me playing it and offered too much money to say no, so I sold it. Much love for old Rogers here.

priced a little high for Asian drums...I have a 62 Cob Dyna, 67 Cob Powertone, 67 Luxor that color matches my 67 Blue Sparkle set, and a 72 Super Ten......Rogers The Cadillac of Drums !

Asian Made Shells - then the kit is Finished off in the USA FYI - cheers PMA ( distributors of Rogers Drums in Australia )

My starclassic is “Asian made” and it kicks the shit out every American made kit I’ve ever owned.
@climbjay3 жыл бұрын
Such a rubbish comment. Why do people instantly throw anything ‘Made in Asia’ under the bus?! Yamaha are made in China and previously made in Japan. Pearl are Taiwanese. The Rogers parent company have extensive shell building know how and technology. What you’re getting is an excellent shell. They’re made using american materials and then shipped to US to be built buy Pork Pie. Again, a very accomplished drum builder. ‘Asian built’ shouldn’t immediately elicit disregard. It’s quite insulting to those people making those shells, drums, hardware who go to work every day to do the best job they can. I agree there are a lot of problems with quality control and cheap manufacturing all over Asia but it’s easy to discern good from bad.. and these aren’t bad. At all. They just don’t have the prestige of a vintage Rogers set.

Yes! Possibly, but in Australia, all drums are expensive, it's that Pacific Ocean tax.

i actually own a 2020 Rogers Covington kit exactly like this one. I picked it up used recently for a good price

Cool. Other than this kit, all my Rogers have been old ones and not one disappointed. Regardless of the abuse or errors of it's age.

I dunno man, they sound FANTASTIC. I've watched a few other videos of the Covington series and the Cleveland series and they both have resonant, rich sound with a low fundamental. These are the perfect sounding drums to me personally. Too bad I can't afford them LOL.

It's really hard these days to make a bad drum. It really is. There is also a point at which your no longer paying for quality but nostalgia. I love vintage Rogers but this particular set fell into that nostalgia category for me pretty quickly. But if you love them, you love them; and no price is too high... keep saving mate.

@dmitryshkolnik52333 жыл бұрын
thanks, nice review. but do I want to spend 7000 on drums and then fight overtones away or try to compensate the lack of "body " with head combinations?.. well, not sure
@KillerDrumsTV Жыл бұрын
Yes, that was our thinking. Nostalgia blinds a person only so far.
@thumpdrum2 жыл бұрын
I am glad that Rogers are back as I grew up playing them. What I don’t understand is the cost. As most would agree , “Asian made” does not mean poor quality. Gretsch Renown and the Gretsch Catalina kits are amazing and budget friendly. Rogers could easily produce a intermediate budget friendly shell pack that is actually produced in Asia. It would grow the brand. Unfortunately, it seems they are geared at selling nostalgia.

So basically it's a TAIWAN drum kit assembled and finished by Bill Detmore/ owner of pork pie drums in the USA.Not made in the USA,assembled in the USA. Amazing how people can be so hung up on a brand name from years ago that they will pay this price tag. The badge should say assembled in the USA. For what there asking for them,,you can buy a set of Ludwig classic,or gretsch USA for less money that truly are made in the USA.Good luck with the reissue.

hint: set the bd pedal to hit 1-2 cm above center.. will give a fuller sound with less rebound issues.. weird but true. Hihat clutch: is cool. But lets give credit to those deserving it: Gibraltar SC-QRHH. Which is actually a better design as the tightening screw locks harder with less effort. Just pressing the tightening screw in against the rod is not really a good design. It was back in 1960.. not in 2022
