Selinor578 yes it's remarkable isn't it. I have a half sister who is 90 and her husband is 91. I am a mere 67. They have been married 73 years. She was pregnant at 15 1/2. My mum was not best pleased 😀

Pearl and Teddy - variety stars in the 1950s and beyond. A really great duo who even appeared in a Stephen Sondheim musical in London's West End and came second in a Eurovision song contest. Very popular and loved by the British Public.
@Tampo-tiger2 жыл бұрын
Did they do a radio show together too?
@Tenortalker Жыл бұрын
@@Tampo-tiger Certainly Teddy did a lot of broadcasting on BBC 2 as Disc Jockey / Presenter. I am not sure if he and Pearl had their own show together, but they might well have done. They appeared a lot on TV and Radio .

At the Twinwood vintage Festival (august bank holiday) in Clapham Beds, the cockney sing-song is a very popular event on Saturday night. There are some videos on here.

There was a TV programme called Lunchbox during the Fifties and Early Sixties, hosted by Noele Gordon, who later became the star of the soap Crossroads. I remember that these two were regular guests. I believe they represented us in the Eurovision Song Contest as well.

...and, what's more, they sing the best version of Mother Brown, and that ain't the more modern one either. Even the Muppets made a proper cock-up of it...rotten song? Like 'ell it is!
